How is a bocce court rejected for being a mountain or natural feature?
So this is my third rejection which just does not make sense.
Rejected because Nomination appears to be a natural feature (waterfall, mountain, lake etc)
WHAT? Even included a link to the LGA council website listing the bocce court. You can see it in google sat view too.
The Bocce court - Waverley Park
Bondi Junction NSW
NOT ACCEPTED
2021-09-13
Description
Its time to slow down with some Bocce. This game is 7,000 years from the past with the first records of Bocce style games from Egypt in 5,200BC (though some claim older Turkish roots). It was adapted by the Greeks and then the Romans. The version we play today was introduced into Australian by migrants from Europe in the early 1900's and is associated with a strong Italian influence.
Location
Wee Care Kindergarten, 7 St Marys Ave, Bondi Junction NSW 2022, Australia
Supplemental Information
A sport to be played by all generations from acroos the nations. And with Waverley Park having so many sports aimed at the young this court is a great leveller. With its own little club and benches it is a great place to meet and relax. Waverley council website confirms the Bocce court - https://shorturl.at/aptB6 . Looks like this should be acceptable.
I’m guessing that the picture needs improving so that the court takes up more and your eye isn’t drawn to the trees. So perhaps something that has the whole length of the court or the club house in background.
The Description is a bit too long and generic. You should try to pull out something special about this court.
The ancient game of Bocce was introduced locally by mainly Italian migrants in the early 1900s. This court is used by [local club name] on (any particular day?) and is also available for casual play.
Your photo is the reason it was rejected as a natural feature. It appears to be mostly a bench and the tree line, with maybe a sandbox. Get a pic of the bocce court that’s centered and square and you’ll probably get approved.
Others may disagree here, but IMO the description is a bit much. A public recreation area in a public park shouldn’t need that much hard selling.
Support photo shows the bocce court better.
Sorry to say, but your well researched description is a great history lesson of the game called bocce, but tells nothing about the bocce court in Waverley park.
A bocce ball court is going to be eligible in most cases, however, I notice your description says it is located at We Care Kindergarten. If that is is true, the wayspot should not be accepted because it's location is not acceptable.
I think the mention of kindergarten in the location triggers the rejections. I have looked it up, there is a kindergarten nearby but this seems to be behind that so should be fine.
Thanks guys.
Niantic puts the address in hence the kindegarden. I would never have noticed that!!
Excellent ;-)
