In Queue doesnt always mean that

in Report a Bug
In Queue doesnt always mean that it is in Queue.
My son has a wayspot he submitted on 18 January 2020 and it is "in Queue".
A friend of ours had it in review 2 days ago and reviewed it.
Technically, it should have moved out of "In Queue" to "In Voting".

Hi all,
I had two open nominations from June/July 2019. One of them changed last week to in voting ( I think because I submitted new ones) – nothing changed since then. The other one got withdrawn from me today because I think there must be a bug and I don’t want to influence my other nominations.
I also submitted 6 other nominations 2 weeks ago – 1 is in voting already for 10 days and 6 are in queue for 10 days.
Is this a regular length for the voting and queue process?
If I use an upgrade on my nomination I get a result within 24 hours.
Regards, Daniela
My Nomination “Riverbottom Gym: Back and Legs” has been stuck “In Queue” since April 21st. All of my other nominations have been through voting, have been approved and have posted in the game. My next round of nominations are now in queue and are proceeding normally into the voting process. I use Pokémon Go to nominate, and Wayfarer to monitor nomination progress.
It's been less than a month. It is not a bug.
If you do reviews on Wayfarer, try to upgrade the submission.
In the past, it can take up to 1-2 years for a review to come through so be patient.
Not only does the fact that I have 113 nominations backlogged seem odd, 38 being in queue seems like an abnormally high number.
That's actually strangely impressive
Well, I haven’t had a clear ledger since May of 2018. Closest I’ve ever gotten was 14 in wayfarer about a year ago(I think) before it piled high again. There was a point where it was several hundred deep though.
update
I am now at 125 nominations in wayfarer with 50 of them in queue.
I have had some new approvals, but this backlog and queue pile is getting larger. Still nominating when the nominations refresh as well.
If you use all your nominations as they become available and there's not enough people reviewing to clear the queue then your list will grow on without limits.
Oh I know I’ve been doing that for a bit over two years. There was a point where I had several hundred marinating in wayfarer. At one point it got cleared down to about 14 in wayfarer, but it’s steadily grown again. After we got to see whether or not things were in voting or in queue I don’t remember having around 40% in queue; much less ones from months ago never going into voting.
My own speculation, is that has to do with many reviewers has gone into red status, which makes their votes count less, and that a great number of those might even have quit WF altogether.
That is the case around here, anyway. There is very little activity in the WF parts of the forums and hubs since April-May. People tired of being punished for reasons they get no feedback on, and understandably so. So they quit WF.
I said this many times before, but whatever they did back in April, they need to revert it. If the system is working "as intended", then the intentions were wrong from the start.
Well, this may sound harsh, but in looking through the forums it doesn’t surprise me that a lot of people are in red. I try to help explain things when I can. However, the way the guidelines are written is a big part of the problem. There are also a lot of things that aren’t specifically mentioned that should be. When Niantic has the majority of reviewers on the same page, who have read all the AMAs, then they add a lot of new reviewers who don’t have around half the information that the first group did; that’s what happens. It also doesn’t help when the guidelines are not very simply written, and very straightforward, and in a number of cases contradictory and contradicted by new posts a lot of people never see. They also need to make it so when a new clarification or new category are added that you are informed before you can start reviewing. Hopefully they do a lot of that when the overhaul is done and they reboot wayfarer. At this point they have the sort of system that you get when you are not careful, clear, and concise in the expectations you lay out. That’s only compounded by not carefully monitoring the system for bad actors and interventions when necessary; and not correcting or dealing with people in the forums who are spreading bad information.
The time it takes to get nominations reviewed depends on your location. If it is in a lvl 6 S2 cell together with big cities, it can take more than a year without upgrade. I live in Hamburg (Germany), right to a lvl 6 cell border. The upper cell needs a few days to get the nominations in voting without upgrade, the other cell, which covers more than 3 big cities needs more than a year Tiger get your submissions reviewd. Lvl 9 S2 cells also got an impact, which I cannot explain.
None of the cities that you can see in these cells count as “big”. The four you see are medium; maybe. You generally get nominations from each bordering cell in your play area, and most of us go back and forth between the two in the middle. But the highlighted cells are what we see most plus whatever our bonus areas are plus the randoms from all over the US. What further complicates it for us is that, including me, I think we have maybe 8 active reviewers that I’m aware of in the 12 cells shown on the map. Niantic had adjusted things and that nearly cleared our backlogs, but then things got fiddled with again, and then there was what we all believe was a whole lot of wayfarer abuse where multiaccounters were 1*ing all the things(which seems to have been dealt with), and now the backlogs are growing again.
Hi @Losifer026-ING, If you haven't tried, please apply the available Upgrades on the nominations to fast-track the Wayspots. However, bear in mind that Upgraded nomination must still adhere to the same criteria as standard nominations, in order to be accepted. Also, depending on the backlog of nominations and number of Wayfinders in your location, it could take a while. Give it sometime, and keep a tab on it!
OMG, a Niantic's mod!!!
They do exist!!!
We all thought that they were removed from the face of Earth https://community.wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/discussion/8115/reporting-user-abuse-on-forum-not-working
Oh I’ve been doing that. I use upgrades as soon as I get them. We do have around 8 reviewers in this region, including me, as far as I know. Things moved a lot faster for awhile but everything has been extremely slow since at least April, when we suddenly had a huge wave of rejections on things commonly regarded as 5* candidates. That at least seems to have been remedied but things have been slow and the backlogs here have been growing ever since.
Here’s a update, I currently have 52 in queue. 6 in queue I nominated in July, 9 I nominated in August, 16 from September, and 14 from October. I think I’ve got 105 nominations in voting; however it’s hard to tell because around 90 wayfarer spazzes out and scrolls me all the way to the bottom so I lost count a couple of times. The oldest out of the ones in voting are from May; the oldest being a baseball field, which should be an easy approval.
Upgraded? Or just left in the limbo?
As soon as I get an upgrade I assign the next upgrade to another one and then keep **** on wayfarer. I’ve been using the upgrades on things stuck in queue because that seems to be the only thing that dislodges them and gets them into voting. Should be getting another upgrade sometime today, and then I can assign the next one; then I just have to get another 100 agreements to get it to move.
Just to be clear I did not use a naughty word. I guess the filter does not like the slang term for working hard on a menial task in a game?
54 in voting, 54 in queue
Something is definitely wrong if we need 5,400 agreements just to get our queue to go into voting via upgrade.
yep, system is broken, there are too many things that do not go into voting bcz the other things are in the adjacent cells and are still "in voting" since 6 month.
but, we still could do more reviews, and use up our upgrades, as we are told.
Yeah, it’d be nice if we could have some perks for having a high nomination acceptance rate. Maybe waive having anything in queue, or for every 10 approvals get 1 instant staff review where they make some wayfarer intern learn by essentially reviewing this sort of upgrade in wayfarer with anything they review being the final answer, or increasing the amount that your nominations are out in rotation in voting based on your percentage. For example, of your acceptance rate is 90% your nominations get 90% of an upgrade.
I forget, the other problem we’ve had here is we have a player who uses two accounts, and this person hates everyone here. We also know they’ve been 1*ing everything local for quite some time now. It’s been reported quite a few times, but nothing was done. Being that this person is using two accounts to do it, and we don’t have many reviewers in the region it’s been a problem. We still keep on going. It won’t deter us.
he still wont get every submisson from your region.
Niantic has made sure that you don´t see that many submissions from your friends (or stalkers)
I sure hope you’re right. This person is pretty determined to get under everyone ’s skin. Between the accounts we know about they’re at about 30,000 agreements, and as an unrelated thing they used these accounts to try and push all the old bad pics to the front of as many old portals as they could to try and knock everyone’s names off the front pics. It’s an impressive lvl of petty. If they were on the other team we’d at least be able to play it out, but they’re not so they’re just doing whatever things they think they can’t get caught doing by upper level team members elsewhere. It’s more sad and funny than anything else. I’ll just resubmit the church, or pavilion, or fountain, or bridge, or sports field, or whatever. They’ll get approved eventually and it only takes me a couple minutes to do.
I have a problem with a nomination that has not changed its status in 3 months. What can be done about it to change its status?
