“Upgrades”

Are we able to disable automatic upgrades going to a sub in the settings section. Its constantly dis hearting when eligible subs are constantly rejected once they’ve been upgraded. Sometimes i just like reviewing to help communities get subs through. But when upgrades happen and subs rejected it’s frustrating. Im sure im not the only one

applying an upgrade is the downpoint of my day. i hate it.
Personally I don't have any issues with upgraded submissions getting rejected more often than ones that aren't upgraded.
To answer your question, there is currently no way to choose not to use an upgrade if you have submitted things and earn an upgrade. You can pick which one the upgrade is used on (removing the randomness of the system picking for you), but it will still use your upgrade if there's something that can be upgraded. This behaviour is meant to be changing eventually, but we don't know when.
Doing a quick search of "upgrades" will often show cases of the "upgrade curse", "getting rid of upgrades" and a couple of Niantic staff members saying that there will be "better control of using your upgrades".
I don't want upgrades either, but they are a necessary evil. Something that I hope one day we have full control of and opting in whether or not we want to use upgrades or not. One day.

i could copy paste dozens of 5* submissions that were upgraded and came back without a limb.
I wouldnt want to see people fall into depression.
Why not have 1 submission be a "dummy" ? 1 out of 40. I can upgrade that, and the people from Corinthia can glady put 1* on that.
You guys get stuff approved without upgrades? 😅 I personally don't know if upgrades are worse because I'll just be here sitting waiting for them to go through for years.
