Wayfarer 4.3 Release Notes
Here’s what’s new with Wayfarer 4.3. Besides some minor bug fixes, here’s what we’ve shipped:
Unlimited Quiz Attempts
We’re letting new users attempt the quiz an unlimited number of times with a 15min cooldown period in between - enough time for you to revisit the Criteria pages. We felt it was a shame to limit the attempts and have folks never return back. We believe that practice makes perfect! For those who have already taken the quiz and failed it twice, they will also be able to retake the quiz an unlimited number of times.
Nominations In Review by Niantic
Nominations that are in review by Niantic will no longer disappear from your Nominations page. Your nominations will be displayed and labeled as being IN VOTING by Niantic, with a Niantic logo badge.
We’ll display the top two rejection reasons your rejected nominations received - these are based on the rejection reasons noted by your nominations’ reviewers. We heard your feedback about the upcoming email changes and wanted to get this done before we launched the new emails.
Also, as mentioned by @NianticDanbocat in the Upcoming Wayfarer 4.3 Updates, these features are just a part of many new changes coming your way!
Thanks for the update, still pretty concerned about the specifics chosen for the quiz but we will see how it goes.
Any update on the appeals feature? I have seen a number of pretty egregious false rejections lately that could benefit.
I looked back at the string of nominations that were rejected with a dot, as well as the more recent ones that were either accepted by Niantic staff (and did not appear in Ingress immediately) or were rejected with "Niantic Review Decision". Unless this is still being rolled out retroactively, that statement of the Niantic tag applying to past reviewed nominations by Niantic is not true at this time.
The top two reject reasons appearing in Wayfarer is... good for the meantime.
Very glad that Niantic Reviews are now going to be marked as such and not removed from the queue. That is, by far, one of the most common questions people ask about.
Also glad that rejection reasons are going to be part of the new emails. Curious about the drop from 3 to 2, but I've rarely found emails with 3 rejections to be useful anyways. Maybe Niantic felt the same way.
Thanks for confirming these items. I misspoke on the the "applying to past reviewed nominations by Niantic". Apologies for that. I've gone ahead and corrected the original post.
Thanks for the update. Any reason that my submissions that were "in voting" are now gone back to being "in queue"? Was that intended! Some of them have been in voting for a few weeks now!
The "in queue" bug seems to be fixed now. Nominations that were "in voting" are again in the "in voting" state.
Yup, just came to say that myself.
"Upgrade Next" button does not work. I posted a comment with a screenshot about an hour ago, but it's still being vetted by Vanilla Forums.
One of my rejected nominations has "reject.reason.not_found.short" as one of the rejection criteria.
Rejection email said:
Your nomination is rejected due to the following reason(s):
The real-world location of the nomination cannot be confirmed to exist at the submitted location, The real-world location of the nomination could not be confirmed to have an acceptable pedestrian pathway leading up to it.
"Upgrade Next" function seems to be broken, at least for the nomination I want to upgrade next. I get a non-specific error message "Unable to upgrade."
Thank you @Cosk62-ING,
I've submitted a ticket for our team to investigate. Will report back when there is more known. Thanks!
very slow photo magnifier
Hello. Will you display edit submissions? It's real trouble for all of us. I cannot learn anything about my very old submissions. A few days ego i received an edit suggestion e-mail which submitted 8 months ago. It was really surprising. Please make useful changes on it as well.
vamos aguardar o quem vem por aí..
We call for a standardization of the rules for the appearance of stops, especially in PokémonGO, and we want it now! We want to have ALL accepted POI`s in PokémonGo, like in the other games, bc all of them are based on the same database!
We too could discover so much more and explore in the world. Especially small cities and towns have it hard to get anything at all in stops due to the cell system and playing becomes so impossible. The system is outdated and just swallows up so many beautiful and really good submissions. We also want to benefit from them and not have a divided playing field.
And even with such a big change you can still balance the game well. Why don’t you change it? The outcry as several thousand stops were removed showed you that the players thought differently about how we were happy with many new stops and would like to have them still in the game. For more #MeetYouOutThere!
@Liediawa-PGO that is something you should ask somewhere more game-related.
this forums are about wayfarer, not pokemon go - specific things like distribution of pokestops/gyms in that game should be adressed at the possible outlets for this.
Also, DanBocat and Tintino arent able to help in any way with this.
Stop this already. Or did you wish every Wayspots should be appeared in Pikmin Bloom, too?
Why? Can’t you be in the game for a little justice?-Reporting errors in the game and in the Wayfarer system?
There is a demand on the part of the players that can also be found here.
The problem behind it is Wayfarer, hence the reference to this forum.
But we can’t do that because of the stupid Wayfarer rules related to PokémonGO.
Because of this, there is the cell system at all, which is clearly not desired by the players. We want a change, this is only possible through Wayfarer.
No, you got it backwards.
Wayfarer and Lightship are the whole of PoI that Niantic stores for all their apps. Then the developers of each game decide how to use that, and so if you have an issue with one of them (Pokemon Go) then you should raise that issue with their developers.
There are many PoI that aren't used in Pikmin for example because it uses totally different rules, nowadays there are new PoI that are being added to Lightship (as it's the main database) but they don't show up in Ingress. So each game has its rules and you should stop posting the same text so many times in a place where you can't reach the people that can change that, and we have been told that such issues shouldn't be raised here.
Of course, such “problems” should not be mentioned here, so that not everyone knows about them and you don’t have to fix or change them.
Thanks for the explanation.
The fact is, even though Lightship is the main database, Wayfarer or Niantic can decide about it. We just want to have more opportunities to follow their slogan #MeetYouOutThere more. That’s how it is, it’s actually ****.
thats a bit like complaining at the burger king counter about the bad burger you got at McDonalds. These guys here are doing Wayfarer. The other parts of the company also do other things sometimes.
Not everyone at Niantic is doing Pokemon Go.
And what kind of justice you're talking about? Or do you mean 'equality' or 'equity' between games?
And did you know there are fewer Wayspots featured in Pikmin Bloom, even fewer than Pokemon GO?
What you are saying is not something that should be said to the Wayfarer team.
It should be said to Michael Sternka, the director of Pokémon GO.
And speaking from personal experience, I think that if Pokémon GO allowed all wayspots to appear with unlimited spins possible, players would hardly walk anyone.
They'll just stay in community days and raid battles, burning lures at Pokéstops instead of moving from a fixed point where there are multiple gyms.
(I still see this trend strongly in parks, etc.)
So if we were to let all wayspots appear, we'd have to implement the burnout system seen in Ingress.
Well, I think the latter is more appropriately in line with Niantic's philosophy.
Let people go out and walk, because when you do that, change happens.
