Fake location submission to delete
Hello,
I would like to report several fake portals that I have encountered in Wayfarer, and that are active in the different games.
I can of course be wrong, but I would like to show you anyway.
I have repeatedly voted for submissions on the same location, and despite the fact that I had detected a false location, they were still accepted by the community.
This is in the town of "Laruscade" in France.
The different wayspots are visible via the intel map.
• There is for example a sign indicating the hiking trails of Graviange, while its actual location is 7.8km to the west. There is even an official Google Maps Street View that passed the sign in April 2021, and you can see the arrangement of the tree branches behind the sign. So it's obvious that this is a fake wayspot.

Link to the real location on Google Maps Street View : https://goo.gl/maps/db3sUuUos5YZvftS7
• There is also a welcome sign about a fishing spot, which is called "Étang du Belou". The sign even has a map that shows the location of the sign on it, normally at the edge of the lake. Except that it was accepted 1km further north, far from the water point it represents. So it is a false location.

• Finally there is a sign describing the importance of beehives and bees, only the problem comes from the logo on the top right, which is that of the company "Center Parcs" which is a vacation village company, and the nearest one is about 220 km further north. And it's the closest!! Again the real location is wrong.

• I also have big doubts about 3 other wayspots representing crosses scattered around the previous wayspots. I don't need to put an Intel link.
Indeed, if we look at the IGN maps (National Institute of Geographic and Forestry Information) of the French government, freely available on the site geoportail.gouv.fr, none of the available maps show religious elements such as crosses on this road.
The Street View proposed by Google Maps dates back to 2013, and I doubt from the photos that these were installed between 2013 and now.
On the crosses, it's up to you Niantic.
• I also came across another request that was refused (fortunately) and that represented the communal forest of Auch located 180km further south.
Thank you for deleting these false wayspots. 👍️

You provided good information, but it should be Removal Appeals instead of General Discussion. https://community.wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/categories/removal-appeals
I'm sorry, I'll change that tonight. Thank you.
Thanks for reporting, @SuRVoLT69-PGO! We have reviewed the report and have taken action on the 2 Wayspots and the Wayfinder in accordance with our policies. While we are unable to discuss our actions in detail to protect the submitter’s privacy, they may include, but are not limited to, sending a warning message, placing restrictions on their Wayfarer, Pokémon GO, or Ingress account, putting their account on probation, or placing a temporary or permanent suspension on their Wayfarer, Pokémon GO or Ingress account. Thanks for helping us maintain the quality of the Wayspots.
Hello and thank you for your actions NianticGiffard.
I have some new information to share with you.
I found the real location of one of the crosses.
While doing an image search, I was able to see that the same photo was used in an article on a tourism website for a French region.
The article was dated January 2017.
The cross is located in the forest of Hirtzbach, in Alsace, about 645km from the existing wayspot.
Please remove this cross.
And maybe also the others.
• I also saw another submission for the same location from a Free Bookstore, with an image from 2012, and located in California.
If it is validated, I would come back to you and ask you to remove the wayspot and be less lenient in your penalties to the player.
Hello, towards the end of my first message, I had mentioned the presence of a wayspot representing a sign talking about the importance of bees in nature.
I found its real location, located 220 kilometers further north, in the park "Le Bois aux Daims" right here : https://intel.ingress.com/intel?ll=47.095753810955486,0.01371145248413086&z=17
There are other real panels in this park.
To prove that this is the original location of these panels, I found the website of the manufacturer.
It is the company "Pic-Bois", and they show an example of the layout they have created, and in the example photos we find the panel, carefully cropped so as not to see the watermark of the company in the upper left corner: https://www.pic-bois.com/produits/references/amenagement-de-coeur-animalier-center-parcs---le-bois-aux-daims-313.html
Please also remove this fake wayspot. :)
Hello @NianticGiffard , I come back to you because I found the real location of another wayspot.
Indeed its real location is 1,2km further north.
It is the wayspot "Ancienne Croix" (a metal cross) which is actually here : https://intel.ingress.com/intel?ll=45.13480587737594,-0.36568164825439453&z=16
Its real location is further north, right here : https://goo.gl/maps/xQ8kLakhwfbTh7Mf8
So I would ask you either to move it or, as for the others, to delete it.
Have a nice day! ✌🏻
Thanks for following up! We have taken action on the Wayspots and a Wayfinder in accordance with our policies.
Hi @NianticGiffard and Merry Christmas to you, your family, and all the epic Wayfarer ! 🎅
I find it strange that you didn't do anything about the wayspot I wrote here: https://community.wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/discussion/comment/133211/#Comment_133211
But I'm not writing you for that one but for another one.
I will tell you about the wayspot "Croix sainte-Anne" which also does not exist at this place.
https://intel.ingress.com/intel?ll=45.129845,-0.369917&z=18&pll=45.129935,-0.369914
Indeed this one is in the city of Bazouges-la-Pérouse, located 382km further north (237 miles).
Here is a website talking about this cross, specifying well the city, and displaying a photo identical to the one of the wayspot, while the post dates from 2011.
A Street View a little old and pixelated allows to confirm that this cross is in the forest of Bazouges-la-Pérouse.
Please, remove this fake wayspot.
Thank you for taking the time to read me, and for doing the right thing with these 6 fake wayspots!
👋
We've removed the fake Wayspot you reported here.
