Valid Nominations with/without Upgrades get permanently rejected

in Report a Bug
Hi there,
could someone please take care of the topic why valid Wayspot candidates are rejected with strange reasons? The whole thing has been going on for weeks and it cannot be that it is only up to the evaluators. It’s frustrating. Thanks. Here are a few examples
rejected because not visually unique, seriously?!
rejected because not found, what?!
Comments
unsafe??? yes, makes really sense to build playgrounds in dangerous places.
private ground? uh, they must have a lot of money
could post about another 40 ridiculous rejections since beginning of November
Next example: not historically valuable
Such crosses are culturally / historically very valuable in Germany, especially in Bavaria
all the ridiculous rejections
Same candidate, different reason for rejection
no secure access
Okay, I'll post mine as well.
The edit was for a piece of playground equipment that no longer exists since April '21. The new object (a swing set) is already the primary image. The old name is totally unrelated now.
all the ridiculous rejections
+20 rejections lately from the eastern Zürich area while not a single candidate has been approved. I've heard from other agents/trainers who observed similar behavior from the south western parts of germany. Perhaps some bots got active doing power rejections???
Thats not bots, thats just people that dont have anything better to do then rejecting too much portals (in their eyes).
There has been something like that before, but it wasn't as massive as it is now. It has to be a larger community that intervenes so disruptively. Is there no way that you can check it out? It certainly affects more trainers / agents who do not answer for whatever reason.
If some bots are responsible to this, shouldn't this message prevent the bots further?
Normally this message should be enough
The majorty of Players has not reviewed in month. It is mostly people that, of free will, review on multiple accounts at the same time. Dayin, dayout. Due to the fact that niantic has lowered the needed votes, a single "reviewer" can easily let a contribution sink to the bottom of the icy seas.
So these are reviewers who normally aren't looking for upgrades either. Otherwise you would trip yourself up with this kind of evaluation. Do I understand that correctly now?
And the next example: Description too short, are you kidding me?!
They should simply undo what they introduced. And nobody needs to come here with any reviewers. Something is wrong in the system and no, I won't justify it, that's the way it is. For this reason, I will not submit any more suggestions and will not evaluate any more suggestions for the time being. Get it under control or shut the shop down!!
Thanks for all your feedbacks, I've become quite worried when this started with my submissions a few days ago, but others, especielly in other countries, did not seem to have that issue. I've had more submissions rejected during the last 7-10 days than during the prior 2.5 years (I started when submissions were introduced to PoGo). I used to have 70-80% of my submissions accepted before these days. I know that some of my submissions are 50/50 or even less, but most of them are playgrounds, information signs, memorials, football fields, sculptures etc, so POIs that usually are accepted 80% or more times. The reasons are totally random as well. Playgrounds not being culturally relevant, memorials whose location isn't proven (while they are clearly visible on satellite), information signs with either lacking access (who puts signs to places that people can't walk to?) or inaccurate title..
I've posted some of my recent rejections below. This is super frustrating and months of work wasted, especially since I usually put lots of effort to create good titles, interestung descriptions and explain via support information how the location can be verified. I have even withdrawn all my submissions in queue to avoid having dozens of rejections per day...
Oh, and I am from Germany as well, located in Bavaria. Some of my sumbmissions are from Tyrol (Austria) or South Tyrol (Italy) so it may not be only a German issue..
There ist definitly Something wrong here. As those examples here seam to be from a certain reason, there is probably no bug. The more logical reason is bots who auto-reject everything or a group of reviewers or multi accounts who reject everything to get upgrades fast and only approved their own nominations.
Either way Niantic hast to look into that matter. There is something very fishy here and it is definitly not working as intended.
I'm submitting Wayspots in NR-02 GOLF-02, in the very middle of Germany and I can say that these issues don't affect me (as of now). Maybe it's a local issue? Don't really know what's going on in your area. I would appeal a lot of the rejected nominations. I mean...who rejects a church??!! That's literally a no brainer under normal circumstances.
Until Niantic at least do something with this, there is only one solution to prevent this going any further.
Stop nominating. Don't waste your nomination quota and upgrades to be rejected. That way the abusers (or the bots) will earn even less agreements, and should they got the upgrade and their nominations got approved, there's a chance the culprit will leave their names in the Wayspot. Extra points if their Wayspots are fake, as folks like @LukeAllStars-ING will report them anyway.
@patsufredo-PGO theres absolutely no reason to submit anything.
This is exactly the reason why I am not currently evaluating or submitting anything. Somehow you have to stop them. A lockdown in Wayfarer, so to speak ;-)
In addition to that, I have also withdrawn all my in-queue submissions, just to provide less space for abuse for these reviewers (given that this is the actual problem). It is just frustrating to have around one year of open submissions that are now wasted...
@Juleswtal-PGO also the same thing i did weeks ago. myself, my family and friends hat contributions in a cell that doesnt move. Niantic wasnt able to do anything about it, and prbly doesnt even know that there is a problem in those cells.
The only thing that now happens is that the persons that review our contributions: they are rejecting them, because they dont like them. Or they dont like us, or Niantic told them off in the forums. Also there are enough people here in the forums that would like to have posh proper portals. Not the stuff we do submit.
Until Niantic doesnt sort this out, i wont submit anything.
Theres only the solution that Niantic identifies this people and bans them from reviewing. Or they just might stop reviewing in a while.
Apparently, this appears to be a regional problem. I dont have this problem in north Germany. I dont know why, but everything Im submitting recently is getting approved:
Even all of the old boundary stones and the insect hotel on schoolground (professional school, non K12) got approved first try. Never thought this would happen.
Last rejection was at october 17th, a picnic area with a pretty bad photo due to increased darkness. Can actually understand this rejection.
I think that maybe the reason for increased rejections for uniqueness and historical/cultural significanse is based on changes to the review progress. Maybe the needed amount of Stars rot set higher?
Also, new review areas or less national reviewers might be a reason. There are rumors about faster reviews, so I guess a lower amount of reviews is needed. This might decrease the number of (inter)national reviewers and put focus on the regional reviewers. That would explain the big differences between my area and the area next to the dutch border.
This was a fun common sense rejection to see.
