Play Ground vs School

We are not allowed schools as a nomination or any part there of.

I take it the reason is self explanatory, children present.

So what is the difference of a Play Ground? Same children area different rule.

I think it's to discourage distraction from education in schools not the children themselves, because children are not banned from playing I think? while playgrounds are inherently for children socializing, exploring, and exercising while at play.

It's to prevent disrupting the schools. Niantic doesn't want to be the cause of schools going into lockdowns because some idiots decided to raid at the school that day.

There are ALWAYS going to be drawn lines somewhere. Otherwise EVERYTHING would be a POI.

I'm not going to lie and say I agree with every line Niantic draws like Apartment Complex' Playgrounds are okay but their pools arent. honestly doesn't seem logical to me.

BUT out of all the fine lines Niantic draws, you picked perhaps one of the easiest. Schools don't like random crowds of strangers showing up, park playgrounds dont have that same issue. This one, it's as simple as "No schools", the end.

I can say as part of my knowledge here in Germany, it’s not allowed to play on the playground of a public school. But also I have to say, the rules here are sometimes… strange. So the reason is part of our care system. If a little kid would get hurt at the playground on a school area, the medical insurance from the kid would not pay for his/her therapy because it automatically gets in the same category like a workplace accident. In this case would have had get the school in charge of the therapy payment because it’s “their” lot.

So the only rational way out of a dilemma like this is to illegalize to play at a playground from a school after the school is official closed (which means everything past 4pm).

This is the reason why school playgrounds always get 1⭐️ From me 😅

    Playgrounds are good

    Schools are no

Playgrounds on school property are also no, by definition. (Same way as playgrounds on PRP are no, by definition.)

  • I work in schools, and there are a multitude of reasons why schools are not great nominations. The last thing schools need to deal with are a bunch of random folks loitering around all day, especially in areas where they could potentially interact with the children.

It's to do with safety, mostly, and there's still a pandemic happening. The fewer people around, especially people who have no reason to be there at all, the better. The staff have no idea if any of these people could pose a threat to the students. There are various safety procedures the school can utilize, but it's best if they don't have to.

Playgrounds situated in public areas are accessible to everyone, and folks can come and go freely. This is vastly different than a school environment. There is still some risk, as there is everywhere, but nobody is confined to a certain space.

Just avoid submitting locations from PreK-12 schools whenever possible.
