Leftover Sponsored Wayspots

The sponsored wayspots from the promotion of 2016 are still there, and the stores are now closed down there, but there are some wayspots which are in the same cell and take up the other places that are actually more useful, can anyone tell me how to appeal about those?

I thought sponsored Pokestops are excluded from Lightship database and ignoring S2 cells rules?
Anyway, try asking GO support team instead.
