Are Appeals worth it?

Posted earlier in the Invalid Wayspot category, but I think it is more suited here.

A couple of my nominations were keep getting rejected even though they are good and fit into the acceptable wayspot criteria. So I submitted my appeal but haven't heard back from Niantic. Do they even respond to the appeals and are they even worth spending time and effort. There are a bunch of reviewers who do pay attention to the nominations and their descriptions. Their only job is to blatantly reject the good nominations and if appeals are just a waste of time, then the whole wayfarer system is seriously flawed.
