Would it make any sense to have a new Discussion Category "Appeal Decisions"?

This category would contain Niantic Appeal decisions and community could use this info as guidelines which nomination appeals were accepted or rejected.

This could be info source "like" preliminary rulings of the Supreme Court :)

Niantic doesn't want us to collaborate to figure out how they work. They would not allow such a category, saying it could lead to "gaming the system." (They'd rather us be in the dark.)

I think we would need to have some appeals actually decisioned before creating a category. 😁

Having said that, I'm not sure why there would be any issue having a discussion dedicated to this. We already discuss nominations that get approved/rejected, so not sure how that is really any materially different than appeals that get approved/rejected.

I think a large number of people are convinced that all of their Waypoint submissions meet the various criteria, and have only been rejected by deliberate subterfuge or toxic reviewers. While we do see nominations in here that clearly should not have been rejected, we do see a lot of "Why not this" type posts where the nomination has been correctly rejected. Niantic have got round to implementing a much asked for" rejected nominations appeals" system, which has not yet produced any output, and already people are suggesting a "discussion" section about the outcomes. What next - will people be asking to "appeal" and "appeal"? I hope Niantic have some sort of process in place to "lock down" nominations that have been through the appeal system otherwise i can see some going round and round and round. Probably just easier to resubmit in that case, but thats another area where Niantic have created problems for themsleves.......

@sogNinjaman-ING I don't think my rejections were "deliberate subterfuge or toxic reviewers". I think people just didn't understand what Niantic is going for, with Wayspots. We've had 5 years of vagueness and unclear wording changes.

Niantic definitely said there would be no appealing a nomination that has already been appealed.

I agree that Niantic could clear up a lot of "ongoing problems" by being a little more definitive about a few particular nomination types.
