Should we consider cricket practice nets, as found in public parks, valid wayspots?
They seem to meet the criteria of encouraging exercise. Similar to a basketball court, baseball batting cage, tennis court etc.

If they are part of a large cricket pitch, then no. They would be classed as a duplicate of the pitch itself.
Practice nets are usually located outside of the cricket pitch area. Either nearby a pitch, or as a standalone site within a park.
Don't see why not, if they are part of a cricket pitch and the cricket pitch isnt already a waypoint, then nominate it for the pitch. If it's by itself and not part of the pitch then nominate it as a stand alone as it promotes exercise ... sort of

If they are available for public use I wouldn't see why not. In the area I am in there are a few cricket nets that are already waypoints. The physical Cricket pitches on the actual grounds none of them are tho.
