The POIs are in mid of antarctica. You can only spoof there. Also, Nia wont ignore my profile picture on Telegram as a Wayspot :D
By the way, did those 2 Mara Wayspots related to that particular Mara abuse?
If so, how did they got accepted there?
Its easy.
Multiple abusers put their home and bonus location over there and spoof towards this location. All there factors of your review area will be there. So if you have enough accounts, you can easily approve everything.

Since it is clear that there can be no players and raters in the area, it must be a group of spoofers.
In addition, there is the massive Wayfarer Abuse.
People with real names and photos are shown. There are massive problems with the protection of personal data.
I hope that Niantic will not just delete the wayspots and issue a simple warning to the players in this case, but will immediately and irrevocably ban these cheaters.

Just to be clear, it's not the middle of Antarctica. It's an island of Antarctica that's relatively close to Chile. There seem to be several legitimate Wayspots there.
That clarification aside, I agree with the sentiment that all submitters as well as any reviewers that approved all the spots flagged should have in-game account bans as well as Wayfarer bans. Especially for the spot with the name and photo.
Im officially a Wayspot now :D
There's been numerous spots in wayfarer for Antarctica that even look like real ones but they are taken via a web browser screen shot then submitted, with information that is true. It's annoying
