Criteria helo

I submitted our local library's reading patio and it was rejected. Any thoughts on how to improve the submission to get this approved?

  • Is there any signage that you could take a picture of? That always helps. Anyone significant ever visit or read there?

I would get a better photo. Yours shows mostly sidewalk and fence. Getting on the patio itself to take the photo would be better.

You could also spice up your description. Something like "A bright and comfortable outdoor space to curl up and read together at (insert library name here)".

Yeah, your primary image is a gate. If there’s signage, try that. If not, maybe try taking the picture from above the gate, to show the patio itself and not just the outside of it. You’ll have to use some judgement on whether or not the images you get are sufficient; you want something that clearly shows what the subject (the reading patio) is.

A reading patio at a public library does sound like it meets criteria, so I think your subject is worthy, you just need to craft your nomination to convey to the reviewer what this place is.

If that belong to the library, then I would consider it part of the library and call it a "Duplicate" - on it's own it's not got enough going for it as a Waypoint.

Find out if the library ever hosts like book clubs or author readings or scything like that on it, that will help sell it. In its own, its botninherently eligible or ineligible. As someone said, try jazzing it up and defo take a better picture.

You can try to replace the primary imagine with the supporting image. It's better if you can capture with the name plates of the library from the front.
