0 for 5. Can someone help coach me what to do here?
I'm in a new neighborhood. There is a 12 acre park and walking trail here. A fountain on the lake. A big playground. 800+ homes. We have no pokestops for roughly a mile. Never did I think it would be this hard to get things approved.
The neighborhood sign was declined for "abuse" because apparently voters think I must live in the house right there.
The fountain was declined for "no pedestrian access", but there would be enough distance to get spins.
There is no sign for the park. There are no gazebos. However there are several sitting areas with wooden posts and lights.
First submission was declined as "blurry photo", so I redid and this time it says "seasonal decor". The lights are not seasonal, they are year round.
So frustrating! Does anyone have any tips? Or are we just out of luck for this new neighborhood because there are no funky sculptures and no sign at the playground or park?
Here's the latest submission. I tried cropping the picture better. Do I need to wait for dusk and do it when lights are up? But apparently someone thinks there are seasonal lights in March? Makes no sense.
Please help!

Was that playground in the background rejected?
The lights rejection was likely for temporary, not seasonal.
Did you try submitting that area as the anchor for the park, as it appears to be an entrance? Alternatively, would it be possible to get the city or the neighborhood to install a sign for the park? Doesn't have to be fancy.
Again, I'd leave out mention of pokestops as I've seen reviewers who consider it "abuse" for trying to influence the reviewers. I personally disagree that it's abuse, but I don't think it adds anything. They can already see from the map that there's nothing in the area.
The “fountain” was already explained in the other thread, as it’s a pond aerator and not a fountain and was correctly rejected.
”Sitting areas” aren’t usually accepted, so there’s nothing unusual about these rejections, particularly as your image is crooked, and the “#2” designation in the title makes it sound non-unique… like, “How many of these are there? This doesn’t sound noteworthy at all.”
The park is tagged on Google; a typical playground submission will definitely get accepted. Any athletic fields/basketball courts that get installed will be shoo-ins as well, along with typical park stuff: named shelters, dedication plaques, etc.
Others mentioned the most important things, so I won't repeat much from them, but I also agree that you have the most chance with playground to be accepted.
Nominate playground (if you didn't do it so far) - just make sure you won't mention any game references (no "pokestop" or other game based words) in any of submission text, and with nice photos and decent title it should be accepted - as it's visible on map view, and on far away street view (that reviewers won't see as it's too far away, but still, it's here) there shouldn't be much issue with getting it accepted. Good luck with that, I hope it will be accepted soon!
For other submissions, they're either not eligible, or in best case may be borderline at best - that means maybe they would get accepted, but it might take many, many tries and a lot of patience - I'm talking about sitting place.
But as other mentioned and what I could see on map view, there is at least 4 sitting areas like the one in your pictures, making it really generic for reviewers and not stand out - almost like normal benches.
I would not try to nomiate it again as it has really low chance of being accepted, but maybe making it an anchor for a park would give it a bit more chance of being accepted - like others sugested.
So, nominating playground is really the best option in this case.
Without any park sign or other things like gazeboos, there really isn't much you can do to get something accepted, as there is no anchor for POI.
I wish for you that maybe in future there will be added something more that could be nominated and accepted (like gazebos, park sign, open air gym, real fountain, some nature / historical information boards etc.), but for now there really isn't much that can be added. Good luck with your submission,
I hope you will get playground nomination accepted soon!
Yeah I submitted the playground. It seems like rejections happen within a week, but the possible successes sit as "in voting" until enough people say no LOL. Why do some fail so fast while others sit in voting for weeks or months?
How are the lights temporary? They are up 365 days a year.
I'm not saying they are temporary, just that people are more likely to think they were put up for a particular special occasion than they are put up every March, as you said.
Have you created a Google 360 photo in Google Street view yet?
If I remember from your other post this is a new park, so satellite views are probably out of date.
Also, as I said in your other thread, a seating area typically needs a structure with a roof (gazebo). Those lights could make for that roof but I would think a picture with the lights on might make it a bit more acceptable.
Personally I think you have an uphill battle.
People use "temporary" to mean it could easily be moved. For example, an 8.5 x 11 picture on the wall at city hall could easily be moved - even if it hasn't been moved in the 10 years since it was put up.
