Deleted PoGo, still have Ingress - now Wayfarer acc. is suspended
I don't even know where to categorize this...
I submitted a request for my PoGo account to be deleted for good. I think getting out of Jehova's Witnesses is easier, but I think it finally came through. Because now I can't log on Wayfarer. I still have an active Ingress account but I didn't even get an option for what email to use for logging in. Just "Please visit the help center more information about your account." (btw, proofread, guys - set the bar? lol)
There is no way to find this "help center", no links or anything, so now I'm here. Since this is the only place Niantic-related where my experience is you will actually get a decent feedback, sorry to say. 😕
I may want to continue using Wayfarer, but I will need the ability to... log in.
Sorry for the slightly annoyed tone, I am just quite tired of the whole experience with this today. 😶

Oh, this is rich. I did a test log in to PoGo to see if my account really was deleted. Got a message saying my account has been permanently terminated for violating the Terms of Service.
Uhm, me violating ToS? I have the emails to prove I requested the termination myself, so this is just stupid. Specifically since spoofers, multi-accounters and the indifference towards them from Niantic was the main reason for my wishing to quit the game... 🤦
Oh no, you should have waited a little bit longer, for the time Niantic finds a fix for this. I fear your Wayfarer stats might be completely deleted. Same happens if you delete the Ingress account, even if you startet submitting and reviewing with PoGO. To be honest, Wayfarer is my favourite thing of all the activities in the games. Ingress is cool and all, but this I'll really miss. Let's see what happens, I guess.

I love that I can still log in here without any problems, and that I got an email from Wayfarer about an accepted Wayspot. But I can't enter my Wayfarer page. 😂

I'm actually surprised you're not able to log in to Wayfarer. Normally your login credentials should still be active and eligible, just your Wayfarer stats should be gone. Maybe someone misclicked a button and confused "Delete Ingame account" with "Broke ToS - strike Mail-account". Can you log in to Ingress? Weird stuff
I hope my Wayfarer stats are not gone for good. I was approaching 25.000 reviews, I think I had around 200 or more nominations accepted and I earned around 175 upgrades. It's a lot of good work that feels quite wasted now.
And yes, it is weird. Can log in to Ingress without problems, except for about 24 hours without access to edits (the three dots on the portals were just not there). But I don't know if it is related to all this and it's back now.
If I get the chance later on today, I will try to nominate something and see what happens. (Don't worry, I won't just submit random stuff - I mean, if I find something worthy of a nomination 😀).
As far as I'm aware there's been multiple documented cases of a deletion request resulting in the same message that a banned account gives. Maybe it's just easier to hit the ban button in case for whatever reason the deletion request isn't genuine.
Are your Ingress Recon badge, and Portals Discovered stat, reset to 0?
Ok, I found two neat trail markers on my walk today. I was able to submit them without any problems. I got the emails and all seems fine - but I still can't log in to my Wayfarer account. 🤯
That's discouraging, but I think you may be right. My request was very genuine indeed, but I was upset. I have had a looong 'fight' with PoGo support trying to make them do something about some very obvious spoofers etc in my area. It crossed my mind that maybe this was an easy way to get a small payback for someone there. I would like to think they are not that childish, but... I just don't understand it otherwise.

Ok, thanks a lot for this idea. It gives me hope! I filled out some PoGo form in an attempt to try and make them reverse the reason (not the termination). I hope it can work, but am not at all feeling sure about it.
Your Recon total is somewhere around your number of agreements (not reviews). There were double-credit events, but also we didn't get credit for reviewing edits or photos. If you did that many reviews, you probably covered both those scenarios - maybe equally enough to roughly cancel each other out.

@Niantic: My Wayfarer is being held hostage because a mistake made by Niantic, please do something. I still have my Ingress medals and am able to submit nominations through Ingress and I receive emails with accepted Wayspots etc... But I can't login, assumingly because of a false reason for my account termination in PoGo. Or? Can you at least just give some sort of response? 🙏

Once again the lack of Wayfarer-dedicated support is appalling. The chatbot sends you here, and the mods here send you to the chatbot. At least no one told you to contact either Pokemon Go or Ingress support...yet. There has to be a better way.

In Ingress you can just delete your account at the bottom of your Settings page (which makes sense). In Pokémon GO you have to submit a request to Pokémon GO Support via email. I even had to Google how to do it. Then you get a response with a code you copy in your response to their response. 🤪 Seriously. Then they will close your account. **** is that even?
Anyway, when this whole situation occured with the no access to my Wayfarer, I responded to the mail correspondance I had with them there. After a couple of days, they answered - sending me to the Help Center's Troubleshooting section. There is absolutely nothing there about Wayfarer access and mails/linked accounts. But they're "happy to help".
I am not the only one having trouble with these linked thingies, far from it. My favourite part is how my stuff gets accepted and go live in Ingress and PoGo. Yet I can't access my page to see the green banners. 😂
Indeed there has to be a better way. And this should be a priority ASAP.
Now PoGo support team member #117 in the conversation tried something new: My PoGo account was breaking the ToS and that was the reason for the termination.
Sure, except I didn't break the ToS and I still requested the termination myself and they didn't even go into the actual problem, the linked accounts and my Wayfarer account being held hostage.
Yesterday they sent me 4 identical emails saying they could confirm I did not break ToS, and that all my game data was intact (this was after the account was gone).
This is so great, I am so glad they are so competent. 😵
Now I got an answer that is just blank.
I think they imploded...
@NianticGiffard your advice to contact in-app support is not paying off, it seems. Is there someone who can take ownership of the problem and fix it? Surely this same situation will happen much more frequently with the rollout of NianticID and other games like Pikmin Bloom. Support cases like these show there's a very, very good reason to resist linking accounts!

I deleted my Ingress account and kept my PoGo account.
Ever since, I'm getting this:
I've contacted both games support teams numerous times but they have no means to help.
So, I advise you to check with your supervisor regarding this before redirecting people to support.
Maybe what @dustinyeeaah-PGO posted will be a solution if ever implemented.
However, you have to find a way to help us who are trapped in this situation till then.
I am beginning to find it VERY difficult to motivate myself to keep sticking up for Wayfarer. I really have loved doing this, I have been totally committed to it and I was all about finding great new POIs and basically, you know, making more money for Niantic.
Now they can't even provide me with a decent answer. Or even one that makes sense. Currently in my crazy-convo with PoGo Support, some new guy thought it would be a great new idea to claim I was banned BEFORE I asked for them to delete my account. I wasn't, but of course I can't prove this now.
Many of us bust our a**es off with this, but that's ok, because we love doing this. But this is NOT how you repay people who, let's face it, work for free.
You need to give this a lot of attention. NOW.

When I filled out the form, I had just had a very long and in-app correspondence with PoGo Support, stretching over quite some days, trying to get them to do something (about some very obvious spoofers and multi-accounters in our area). That is always a waste of time, which is very frustrating.
I then decided to finally quit the game for good, which created all kinds of new problems with my account etc.
Just to explain why my tone is not the nicest if you get to read the conversation.
A thought on the linked accounts etc: In both Ingress and PoGo you get bonuses for tracking your walking distance. I have used Google Fit. The same account for both games, of course. If we were to not use the same email for Niantic games, how would that even work with Google Fit? Log in and log out of different Fit accounts while playing one game at a time? It just doesn't work as it is now.
