Approved appeal = criteria?

With the appeal system, a lot of community rejected wayspots have been approved. Are we supposed to take this as criteria clarifications when Niantic approves something?

I would hope so. I’ve had rejections of numbered sports fields in sports complexes overturned, and it seems their approval rate is 70% going through wayfarer normally. It would be nice to see that clarified so I don’t have to renominate them until they go through or use appeals on them if we will only be getting them once a month.
