How will Wayfarer recover from being compromised by bots?

Wayfarer has been confirmed to be compromised by abuser networks using bots to boost their own very questionable submissions and reject everything else. How will Wayfarer ever recover from this?

It´s the concept behind it.
Instead of making the only right decision (shutting down wayfarer) they stuck to it and try to make it work. In short: it will never ever.
People keep on nominating and reviewing, some might have given up but it's clear that there's a huge number of people that are too addicted and they will go on no matter what.
theres a natural ending to it: when the last playground has been submitted, the last stumblestone has been put into the ground, the last information sign been errected, only then will the company recognize that you do not bite the hand that feeds you.
Yes, that's the main point, although my question was a bit general. I mean, it would be stupid to expect Niantic to explain specific countermeasures if these are supposed to stop abusers instead of letting them find new loopholes. It's more about an adequate response to the community and player reports in general.
I've been working under the assumption that until and unless there's a new game which brings in a ton of fresh people it won't recover
I guess some peple are looking foward to nominate anything and this could be called "abuse", but i agree about making more serious submissions.
