How do I know if my pokèstop nomination is being reviewed?

I have been playing Pokémon Go since it first got released and I recently nominated my first pokèstop. How do I know it is being reviewed? Will I get notifications? Will I get status updates? Or is it just a waiting game?

You will receive an email notifying you that it has been received and when a decision has been made.
If you log onto https://wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/ with your pokemon account, you can see the status of it. Firstly it is 'In Queue' then 'In voting'.
You can also use this website to fine tune the text used.
When your request is "In Queue" you can still edit the details (title, description...) when it is "In Voting" edits are not possible.
