Do I do what?
Put edits in for portals in my area? Absolutely.
Are they necessary? In my opinion, yes.
Almost every portal in my town, prior to me being able to submit, either had a description full of spelling/grammar errors or absolutely no description at all.
Just because you have an issue with reviewing edits doesn't mean they're abusive or do they cause things to take longer to get approved.
If anything, you should be more concerned with the amount of rubbish that gets submitted repeatedly.
My original point is that there are other ways to do remote edits other than using the drone, and none of those ways are abusive, regardless of how much you don't like them or don't agree with them.
There’s a lot of messages in the chats, no I’m not going back to try to find what you are on about without any proof there’s anything to look for.
either give a screenshot with some evidence or give it a rest.
If @NianticCasey-ING chimed in and stated that remote editing to fix spelling or grammar mistakes via the Ingress drone is not abuse, would you shutup about it?
Rather convenient you dont want to look when you commented on it
You're the one making the accusations all the time but never actually provide evidence though.
If I commented on it then provide the screenshot because right now I don’t know what you are on about. Or message me on TG I’m not hard to find
My idea to mitigate this issue is to require an Edit Justification and allow for an optional citation. Its confusing reviewing edits when context is lacking, especially when both options sound legit...it becomes a coin-flip with a 50% probability of triggering a superfluous (but legitimate) appeal.
There's actually a hard limit to the distance over which you can submit edits... I think it's around 1000km or so but I don't know for certain. My drone is currently meandering through a city 1/4 of the way around the world from me, and I have souvenir keys from my visit, but attempting to make an edit via either drone or keys returns an error message stating that I'm too far away to contribute.
Ah, I didn't know that. I've just always done edits for wayspots in the area I'm in at the time or any that I have keys for in my country.
@Dazzz12345-ING are you familiar with comms in Ingress? It's a far more useful way to submit edits remotely than drones or portal keys. All 3 of these are basic pieces of the game. To suggest that using them to submit edits is abuse is really astoundingly terrible.
