Why are nominations being rejected so much?
I’ve had to post box nominations rejected because for the most ridiculous reason - “Fake Nomination” I spent my time and energy nominating fake locations - that makes tons of sense. Why would the voting community chose this out of all reasons as rejection criteria? I am so confused. I pinpointed the location. I submitted pictures. Not sure what else to do. I think it’s ridiculous that a community trying to improve the game and create for poke stops for game play would falsely reject a real nomination. People who reject stops for this reason shouldn’t be judging stops.

Want to share some photos of your nomination (picture/title/description/supplemental, etc.)? We might be able to give you an idea of why it’s not going through.
I think just about everyone has had a waypoint rejected for bogus reasons. It happens a lot. You just have to try again… otherwise there’s always the 1 appeal/month.
Postboxes aren't generally eligible. In the UK, some get accepted due to historical value, though even then, not all reviewers agree with this. If you are in the UK then I'd be curious to see screenshots of your nominations.
Hello and welcome to the Wayfarer forum @AmaStarly-PGO !
a community trying to improve the game and create for poke stops for game play
The in-game Waypoint nomination is not good in Pokemon Go, as it not explain the things right.
When you nominate something, you don't nominate for improving the game or game play.
Wayfarer is a project not related to games, it's a world map of Point of interest, places that corresponds to one of the 3 eligibility criteria :
- A great place to exercise
- A great place to explore
- A great place to socialise
While I totally agree with you (I just had another rejection wrongly marked as abuse myself, after another was wrongly rejected as a seasonal display) but first make sure your submissions are actually ok.
Some people come to the forum's complaining not realising they did something wrong and the people here have no idea how experienced you are so will question the submissions.
If you in the UK and are aware that ER type post boxes are not acceptable but the majority of others are, can the royal cypher on the postbox clearly be seen in your picture and on streetview?
If all that's ok, then it's either bad reviewers or the bot problem is spreading. I assume we are all having these problems as I started getting bad rejection again 2 or 3 weeks ago.

Pokémon GO isn’t the only game that gets the Wayspots you nominate. Can you share some of your nominations?
For many, postboxes in the UK don’t meet the explore/exercise/social with others criteria. As for Fake, that’s often applied when people will state “Edward VII Postbox” or similar, when it’s a E II R (not eligible at all).
Yes please share some photos of what was rejected? TIA
As others have stated, post boxes are not inherently eligible, and most wouldn't meet the eligibility criteria anyways. Secondly, I find most nominators grossly overestimate the eligibility and acceptability of their nominations. This is in large part because those nominators don't know the Wayspot criteria and simply use what they see in the field rather than nominating with what is in line with the criteria. I've also seen plenty of nominations sabotage themselves by bringing up irrelevant topics that have nothing to do with or make references to one or more games, this is especially bad among many PoGo nominations. For example, I recall one nomination that had to picture of one thing, a title for something different, the description was completely unrelated to both the image and title, and the supporting information simply talked about how they "needed more Pokestops", which is completely useless to a reviewer. Thirdly, there are some types of nominations that require the nominator to "sale" its eligibility to the reviewers. There are a lot of areas that are dependent on the reviewers' best judgment, particularly if the nominations fall under the "great place to socialize" category of the eligibility criteria. If you don't provide details and supporting documentation, then reviewers are likely to reject the nomination. And lastly, take a good look at the rejection criteria. Just because something may pass the eligibility and acceptance criteria doesn't mean it is exempt from any of the rejection criteria. If even one rejection criterion is met, the nomination is supposed to be rejected.
Literally all of my submissions have been rejected, it’s ridiculous. One for temporary feature (it’s been there for several years), one as natural feature (it’s a boat launch slip in a marina so no), & and two as duplicates (which neither of them are).
The boat launch slip one admittedly might’ve been because of the photo I used, which possibly could’ve caused confusion as to what the area was, but I’m not sure if I’m allowed to renominate it with a different photo.
The seasonal display I get why it could be mistaken as one and I guess I should’ve expressly stated in the submission “it’s not temporary even if it seems to be”. It’s a halfway marker for an annual marathon that’s a very big event that attracts thousands of people from all over the world, and since it’s the same route for the past 50+ years, the marker is kept as a permanent feature for at least the past several years that I’ve personally seen.
One of the duplicates was for a Buddhist temple of which there is a similar looking Buddhist temple a few blocks away so I wonder if people thought it was duplicating that even though it’s literally blocks away and a different color than the other one?
The other duplicate is of a decorated pillar cornerstone of a cemetery, which I have no idea why it’s marked as a duplicate. I checked and there’s nothing else around it that could’ve been mistaken for.
Edit: to clarify, I have verified there are no duplicates the correctly way (that is, using the map of points of interest on the actual submission page) not based on what I see in the game.
If you share screenshots of your submissions we might be able to give some additional ideas about what reviewers may have been thinking.
Nevermind. I see you started a thread in Nomination Improvment.
