How would you rate a nomination that used the term "Wayspot" in the description?
Today I reviewed the following nomination, which used the term "Wayspot" in the description. This is the first time I have ever seen someone do this.
While it is common knowledge to not use game-specific terms and phrases like "Pokestop", "Catch Pokemon", "Portal", or "XM" in your description, technically the word "Wayspot" is not a game-specific term. While the term "Wayspot" is very similar to game-specific terms and could easily be seen as falling under that same umbrella as a Niantic product term, the entire reason game-specific terms aren't allowed is because they aren't relevant to every other Niantic product, however the term "Wayspot" is equally relevant to all of Niantic's products. This presented a bit of a conundrum.
My first instinct was to reference the criteria guidelines to see the exact verbiage in relation to this, however game-specific terms are not actually mentioned in the criteria, at least not anywhere that I could find.
So my question to you all is, how would you rate this?

Reject 1* description text.
Wayspot isn't a term used outside of Niantic and Niantic games so it is a game specific information which doesnt belong in a description
insta 1 star...but beware apparently you have to wait five minutes in those insta 1 star or your rating will decrease
You said yourself that game specific terms aren’t mentioned in the criteria so why would is be a basis for denial?
it was said by niantic guy in this forums long ago, the only thing that has to be in description its that, the description of the object, if he wants to mention wayspot or other terms such game relates stuff, he can use the supporting information
I just find it difficult for me personally to reject a nomination for one innocuous word, that nomination may have been waiting for a year for an answer.
Or for just a week ago. No one knows when a nomination is submitted, except if their photos have a timestamp.
1* text rejection, same as Pokestop or Portal.
Wayspot is a Wayfarer-specific term.
Actually it is
Give low ratings to:
Wayspot is a game specific Niantic term, its not general parlance
Then they should have read the instructions before submitting the POI.
It clearly says for PoGo
Do not include the following in the titles or descriptions:
Wayspot is a Niantic game specific term.
If they didn't want it rejected they should have read the rules and guidlines to ensure they were doing the submission correctly
You can’t read what exactly this plaque is about. So the title is pretty meaningless as there is nothing connecting it to this spot. The information about Esther’s Orbit room may or may not be referenced on this plaque.
I don’t think the reference to venerable wayspot is relevant. When I Google a definition for wayspot it pulls up a list of references back to the game/Niantic so I feel it is game specific.
So a reject from me.
PS I enjoyed looking up the info about the plaques and the history of area…..easily distracted 😂
Which specific game does it refer to?
Wayspot is a specific Niantic game term over all of their games, so take your pick which one.
I don’t think you are using the word specific correctly. There are wayspots in all Niantic games, therefore, it is not a game specific word. It is non exclusive of any game.
Nice try in semantics but its entirely possible for something to be a game specific term, without the word being exclusive to a game.
Question:
How can we incentize Wayfarer and make people aware of it? https://community.wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/discussion/31232/incentivizing-wayfarer-discussion/p1?new=1
Answer:
Not allowing to speak about it. It would be bad if any player sees the term "wayspot" and wonders why that portal/pokestop/mushroom talks about Wayspots. It's better to keep this a secret.
