What’s Niantic’s plan to stop Wayfarer abuse like this?
Taken from the Global Wayfarer group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/WayfarerGlobalReviewers/?ref=share) on Facebook, but name is redacted so should be okay for screenshots.
It’s known that this happens in a few communities and groups. It’s not uncommon for someone to come to a raid on Pokémon GO with a few accounts.
If all of those are level 38+, then they can all be eligible to vote like the above suggests, and I don’t know what Niantic’s plan is to sort it out beyond shrugging and asking people to report it, and then banning one account whilst the person(s) create three more like a hydra.
Be great if you can share what you intend to do.

This is the sort of local cabal abuse that we've been talking about for a long time.
It should be reasonably easy to spot these clusters of accounts programmatically.
Can the group from Poland please start your own thread to yell at each other so the rest of us can continue to discuss this important topic? (Or ignore @XeZar66-ING for once, maybe?)
I do not know why this was brought up.
Also i do not know why this always drifts into Polish discussions.
@JillJilyJabadoo-PGO Given the way Niantic has removed hundreds of abusives Waypoints in Poland, they deserve much than your contempt...
Poland abuses is probably in the very subject of this post !
I don't have problems with any of the people involved in the Polish disputes. I just don't want them derailing this thread and getting it shut down, as has happened in the past. If they want to give their opinions about the topic that would be great! I just don't want to start with the endless insults, accusations, and mod tags. I would prefer to hear Niantic's response to the posted question.
I saw that Facebook post (after specifically looking for it based on this thread- I have a healthy dislike of Facebook overall) and was dismayed to see both the OP there and a few others just accept it as a normal situation, or express jealousy about the number of convenient Wayspots. I'd much rather hang out with a group that rejoices in finding interesting, legit submissions - which explains why I spend so much time here. 😁
Sorry. I definitely see how I came off as criticizing you for raising the Poland issue. I intended specifically to request that "yelling" and insults not clog up this thread in response to your post. I've got no problem with either your initial post or civil input from opposing viewpoints.
All the while I struggle to get genuine POI approved.
Please bring this topic somewhere else. This thread is discussing about Global Wayfarer group, not the Polish.
I would be really interested in finding out how Niantic intends to tackle this challenge as well. Especially in potential situations where a voting cabal intentionally decides to accept nominations that do not fit the eligibility criteria.
Because the removal criteria is much more strict than rejection criteria, once a group agrees to disingenuously accept all things local, it can become impossible to remove those things. Therefore there seems to be no downside in manipulating the system.
If the Wayspots are good candidates then that is not an issue — I’m talking more about the gas stations and intersections that are allegedly being accepted, and now presumably don’t meet the removal criteria.
I think Niantic should hire people to travel the world investigating areas and give them the power to instantly remove fake/incorrect/dodgy Waypoints. I suppose I would be willing to join this team for a reasonable salary.
I think that’s what they’re doing for where they’re making location edits. All those locations mentioned are where Niantic have an office.
Any plans on this @NianticTintino or @NianticDanbocat ?
I think Niantic’s plan is to do nothing until someone does in that area what Andis did in St Cloud, documenting their massive abuses in one thread after the next. That person will field a bunch of threats and accusations from cheaters the way Andis did, and Niantic will do nothing about that. Niantic will remove a bunch of stops and issue warnings to the multi accounts. Those players will create or buy new accounts and go right back to what they were doing before. Some from that group will also take a more active role in this forum in an effort to proactively shout down any future proof of wrongdoing.
How do I know? It’s what already happened.
Probably could have just stopped with:

niantic stopped reading at "hire"
Haha, true. But they only make about a billion dollars a year so you can see why they just don't have the resources available to do so... ¬_¬
