From my understanding, pursuant to the updated rules, all fire stations were to be removed as waypoints. While I’ve seen a couple in the area removed, I noticed this one is still there.

Thanks for the appeal, @DemonHunterCole-PGO! We took another look at the Wayspot in question and decided that it does not meet our criteria for removal at this time.
Really? I know that the fire station filed a complaint with Niantic several years ago as they were upset with the number of people gathering there for raids, and because of the complaint raids in Pokémon Go no longer spawn at this gym.
@NianticGiffard can you please re-review this appeal? It's so weird that the team agreed to remove all fire station Wayspots reported by @tehstone-Ambo but not this one.
At the very least downgrade it so it is not a gym in Pokémon Go and thus people will not gather around it.
We've given it another look and stand by our decision since as per our investigation the Wayspot is not disrupting the emergency services of the fire station.
move it to an adjacent cell and it will turn into a regular pokestop
