Rejected for explicit or inappropriate activity.
I was very curious how this lighthouse navigation light in a public park could contain inappropriate or explicit activity, maybe I am looking at this wrong, but no graffiti on the tower, would love to hear your thoughts.
Dear Vorstellen13,Thank you for submitting your appeal for your nomination: Emu Point Navigational Light, originally submitted on May 3, 2022. You worked hard on your nomination and appeals give Niantic the chance to carefully review the validity of the community’s decision if it has been rejected. Here’s what you’ve submitted:
Emu Point Navigational Light
Solar Powered Major Navigational Light at Emu Point to aid shipping
Easy access besides a busy walking / cycling path
Rejection reason: The real-world location of the nomination appears to have explicit or inappropriate activity, Nomination does not meet acceptance criteria
Comments
I would ignore the explicit reject. It’s perhaps some users avoiding a cooldown.
However is it;
Doesn’t look like it to me, and you haven’t explained if it is in your supporting information, so I’d say “other rejection criteria” which is
…for Nominations that do not meet all of the acceptance criteria, or meet any other rejection criteria.
is correct.
The reviewers only see "Location Inappropriate" when selecting that option. There is some text in the next screen that explains the inappropriate and explicit but it's very easy to click past that without reading it. I assume that anyone who picked this thought this was inappropriate along the lines of "this is a public utility and we shouldn't draw people to it." "Obstructs emergency services" is the better option to communicate that but many people don't realize that counts for utilities and only think it's for fire, military, police and hospital.
Ultimately, "Other rejection criteria" is the right one to pick if you just don't think this qualifies to be a POI. But since that is the one I end up using most often, it's frustrating that it is "Other" instead of "Doesn't meet criteria."
Thank you so much for the explanation

Thank you for your advice

In agreement, with all of the above. POI is very lackluster and I would 1* rejected that with "other rejection criteria".
