Rejection Appeal - Question
I'm going to be straight the point. My nomination is a commercial building and got rejected because the reason is (residence, farm, private). The nomination is CLEARLY seen in Google Street View and it's really obvious that the street is filled with local businesses so it's CLEARLY NOT a residential area even it's close to residential properties it's STILL on the MAIN ROAD there is also other pokestops and gyms present near my nomination so I don't get why it's considered RESIDENTIAL AREA. Can someone explain a good reason why this is not a good nomination? Thanks

I don’t know what is generally accepted by local reviewers in the Philippines, but there’s no way your nomination would get approved by reviewers in my area of Canada. This just isn’t a good nomination. Like you’ve said, it’s a commercial building and I’ll say it’s a rather generic one at that. This feels like the equivalent of nominating a generic shopping plaza. What is special about it?
Sorry but a lot of commercial building are Gyms and PokeStop in my area. I never knew each country has different views how a nomination is accepted or rejected. well anyway thank you for your response.
Yes this would never be accepted in the UK either. However, you mentioned there's a bar inside. I don't know how things work in your country, but in the UK any pub and many bars make great places to be social.
So maybe nominate the bar instead?
Sure let me try that thank you for the response!
Because you nomination does not meet any criteria.
The appeal has already been submitted so we can’t see, but by any chance, in addition to PRP did you also get a vague rejection reason of “Other Rejection Criteria”? Because that’s the poorly-named rejection reason for a nomination that does not meet criteria, and that’s what I would have expected for a commercial building with no special historic or aesthetic value.
It’s just a commercial building which doesn’t meet criteria.
I know you’ve mentioned that a lot of commercial buildings near you are already Wayspots, but existing Wayspots are not an indication of what’s now eligible/acceptable. Coal slips through sometimes and things are “grandfathered” in from Ingress, where the rules were a lot looser due to email submissions etc.
To be honest, the UK has lots of local reviewing customs that are completely unique. I don't know any other place where simple postboxes (no matter how old) and stinkpipes would be accepted. Similarly, everywhere else food/drink-based businesses are extremely hard to get accepted. In Central Europe, Michelin-star restaurants and restaurants/pubs with 150+ years of history get rejected almost without exception. There is absolutely no way a bar in a generic commercial building would ever get accepted here.
I don't know anyone who accepts stinkpipes or ordinary postboxes. Now, a hexagonal Victorian with floral top, maybe.
That's what I'm talking about. For me, a 100 years old postbox with any monarch's emblem is just as ordinary - and ineligible - as any.
Agreed, stinkpipes no longer meet criteria in my view. People just submit them as they see them in games already.
It must be the weekend we are discussing postboxes and trail markers 😂😂😂
Mods are asleep, discuss trailmarkers!
What about this?

I've seen this in Edinburgh when I'm home visiting family. 1890's or 1980's?
