Is it okay to ask for a PokéStop you nominated to become a gym?

Hello everyone! Just wondering when submitting a PokéStop nomination if it's okay to ask in the 'Supplemental Information' section if it could possibly be a Pokémon gym? I was only recently made aware of the Wayfarer program and just wondering if it counts as 'influencing reviewers'. For example: "A very popular part of a historical town that is nearby a local pub, shop & post office. Would be nice to have a Pokémon gym here". All information would be true, I was just wanting it to be a gym if possible as there are 4 PokéStops surrounding the area. Thanks!

It wouldn’t be influencing reviewers as they don’t decide that as mentioned. It is kind of wasting your supporting information though as you need to say why you believe the nomination meets criteria and would be a good Wayspot in there.
There’s also some who would vote more harshly at mentions of stops or gyms in supporting information

The reviewers can't make it a gym. Gyms are decided in Level 14 cells.
Ah okay, this was back in July 2021 before I even was aware of Wayfarer. Back then, I just assumed the person who nominates the PokéStop/Gym nomination had a choice. Thanks for clearing some of that information!

Got it, thanks. It was marked as duplicate anyway because there was already a Wayspot of the area. At the time I recall, the app didn't show Wayspots of areas that weren't PokéStops/Gyms.
You should really learn about s2 cells. Never mention pokemon in the tex, only if you are nomination something like a pikachu art as not only pogo trainers review, ingress agents too and they may find that annoying. Honestly I just play pogo and don't like it, use wayspot as it's neutral.
