Question about home location and Bonus location

i have my home and bonus location set to a couple of towns in the south west of England, from what I’ve read I was under the assumption I would be reviewing a lot of nominations for those areas or at least also ones immediately surrounding them
I’ve instead had most of mine coming from places much further in like Plymouth, wales, London, France and germany
Does this just come down to my chosen locations not having many nominations?

I’m about to have a trip to Cornwall. Each time I go that is the range of places I see plus Ireland crops up too. I think that is the area covered.

Your reviews are from (1) the region of your most recent point of play, (2) the region of your home location, (3) the region of your bonus location, and (4) upgraded nominations from anywhere.
In (1), (2), and (3) - "the region of" means: (a) the Ingress region, which is that S2 cell (50 miles wide and high?) (b) PLUS all regions surrounding that region (for a total of 9 regions).
So if you're seeing nominations from farther out than you expected, they are probably upgraded nominations, or from the regions surrounding your current: play area, or home location, or bonus location.

I live in Perth, Western Australia, and have recently been getting quite a few nomination reviews for an aboriginal community in, I think, northern South Australia (over one and a half thousand kilometres away); and even a few from Thursday Island off the tip of northern Queensland (about as far away from Perth as you can get and still be in Australia).
It sounds like those might be Upgraded nominations, too.
