Sloppy location pins or abuse?
This came up in a related thread: https://community.wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/discussion/33199/when-location-is-incorrect-should-i-reject-or-suggest-new-location
This time I caught a good example - four baseball fields that backup to each other. The photo is taken from behind the backstop (good) but the nominated pins are all spread out in the field of play. In this case the nominated pins happen to be spread out among 4 different S17 cells.
I have reviewed all four of these PoIs by this point and have suggested all four pins are moved to behind the backstop out of field of play. Seeing the S17 grid overlay makes me suspicious the nominator is trying to get more pokestops or the nominator is just sloppy.
In this case I approved the PoI but suggested the pin be moved. Can anything else be done to fix these?

Each of those pins is on the respective field. Nothing about those locations is incorrect. Has the submitter chosen those locations in order for the wayspots to show up in PokémonGO? Probably. But, again, they’re all still on the respective POIs, can be spun from the sidelines, and you can walk up to each exact location if you’re going to be really pedantic about it. Stop trying to ruin other people’s fun when they’re not breaking any rules.
I hope you’re not a reviewer with that perspective - we can’t have PoIs that are on the field of play that would interfere with a game in progress. Plus all four primary photos were taken from behind the backstop so the nomination doesn’t really match the pin.
Any other rational feedback out there?
You have done the right thing to do, you are a good reviewer.
Each poi should be on it's exact location, should not interfere with the game, so the op has answered the question itself: the poi should be where he has taken the pictures, behind the backstop, out of the field.
Don't listen to people like @GCOneSixtyOne-ING who break the rules. You have done the right thing.
ok so getting back to my original question - can anything else be done to correct these pins? I have already reviewed all four in the past and suggested all four move to behind the backstop but it looks like they are staying in field of play.
The original photo was taken from behind the backstop but other amenities may represent the pin of a field, the bleachers perhaps. That would maximize stops while being accurate without interfering the field of play.
Haven't tried >10m move edits via chat for this problem but I'm curious to see if "move to spectating location to not interfere with field of play" a sufficient reason to be moved.
I’d love for you to tell me which rule I broke. I didn’t nominate any of those baseball diamonds and I didn’t review any of them. How about you check the community guidelines on defamation @VladDraco-PGO before you go around accusing other people of breaking rules.
You're effectively encouraging people to place wayspots in the wrong location and accept misplaced wayspots. I think that's what @VladDraco-PGO was getting at.
As has been said elsewhere on this thread, when nominating a sports field, the wayspot location should not be on the field of play, and should be anchored to a physical object in the real world that represents the sports field (or at the natural point of Ingress to the location - in other words, the entrance, if there happens to be a physical entry point that isn't just a path). Bearing in mind I'm in the UK and have a very rudimentary understanding of baseball (it's not a commonly played sport here), it does look like all four of the pins for these baseball fields would interfere with people playing baseball (please correct me if I'm wrong), and at least some of them are not anchored to a physical object.
Can anything else be done to fix these?
If you are in the immediate area you can submit a location edit and let the community reviewers decide which location best represents the POI. If you are not nearby, you can use the Wayfarer support chat to request moving of the pins in a way that does not interfere with the field of play.
Such requests have been pretty hit or miss but in my opinion sort of absolve me of any more action. I requested Niantic reevaluate it, they either take action and decide for themselves or they decide it's acceptable in this case and I move on.
I’ll try and address this later with pictures when I’ve got more time, but if @HeavenlyNostril-PGO was legitimately concerned about interfering with play there were many other spots around the edge of the field they could have moved the pin to that would be just as representative of the baseball diamond and still allow the wayspot to appear in all Niantic games. In fact, if you want to mark the point of ingress to the fields and want cause as little disruption as possible, the corners of the outfield would be the most logical choice. The way this baseball complex is set up requires you to approach each diamond from the outfield. To get to the area behind home plate (which is where OP suggested), you’d have to walk past the players benches and past any spectators. And furthermore, if you actually were being courteous to the people playing baseball you wouldn’t be standing behind home plate because it can be distracting to the pitcher. But I suspect @HeavenlyNostril-PGO’s reasons for wanting to move the wayspots to behind home plate are rather disingenuous and are actually based in either an obsessive desire for symmetry or a true desire to limit Pokéstops in this area.
Actually I am an avid player myself but try to set aside my zeal for more PoIs when I wear my reviewer hat. All four nominated pins are in unacceptable locations so I wanted to get them moved somewhere out of play. All of the submitter’s primary photos were of the backstop so that is the logical landmark game players are going to look for.
For other baseball fields I have reviewed I have seen the scoreboard nominated as well as distinctive bleachers and have approved both as they were out of the field of play. So no am not seeking symmetry or being pedantic, just trying to get these locations corrected.
I submitted a request to the help chat and will drop it after that, not worth it for me physically drive to Kilgore TX and request a location edit.
Thanks all!

That's a forum that Niantic monitors. It says location edit, but they often look at things we found when reviewing.
I agree that pins shouldn't be on the field of play. But I disagree that locations have to match the wayspot picture. Anywhere along the sideline would be fine. Bleachers, dugout, etc. At park fields like this, people walk the sidelines. This park's fences even make that safe.
Thanks for bringing this up! We have reviewed the report and taken action on 4 Wayspots in accordance with our policies.
