View counts going up each time anyone views the discussion posts

When it comes to the view count going up each time anyone views the post, I think the view count should never go up when the person who posted the discussion post themselves views it. It should only count other people/accounts that are viewing the post. When others check how many views a post has, the count can be more relevant. I don't know if that's the best reasoning behind my thought, I can't think of a good reasoning straight off.

I know what you mean. Unfortunately, Niantic doesn't have any control over this, as the forum engine is provided by a vendor (called Vanilla).
Think of it as if you were a taxi driver. You wouldn't make your own car; you would buy one from a car manufacturer, like Toyota. You may be able to select some features when you buy your Camry, such as if it has leather or upholstered seats, but you have no control over the engine under the hood (bonnet).
