Hi All,
Hope everyone is doing fine!
I was wondering if someone could give me an explanation why is the comments field not mandatory if Other rejection criteria is selected!?
It does not help anyone if no proper answer is given why a nomination was rejected. And it even allows space for bullying in a smaller community just because you are in a different team for example...
So my proposal would be to have the comments field made mandatory if other rejection criteria is selected.
Please, do share your thoughts on this!

It doesn't matter. Niantic won't ever send that text to the person that nominated the poi as it would be offensive too many times.
If you think that you're being bullied now, imagine what would happen if that people would be able to send you a message.
The comment field is not required for most rejection reasons, which is fine because the comments are not read and are not passed to the submitter.
Other rejection criteria means "does not meet any acceptance criteria." In other words, it is not a good place to explore, exercise, or socialize. So if you get this reason, you know why it was rejected. If you believe it still does meet criteria, then you need to improve the description and information so that reviewers can see how it meets criteria. Remember, most of the reviewers will have never been to the place and don't know what you know. If you post full screenshots of your nomination in the Nomination Improvement forum, wayfinders can give you advice or let you know that your nomination is not eligible.
Faction or team should not be mentioned or hinted at anywhere in the nomination, not because opposing teams might reject out of spite, but because game references should not be used and codenames/codewords/usernames/factions are not allowed. If you are mentioning your team ("like Team Mystic unite!"), that could be why you are getting rejections.
