Court Import and Duplicates
Now that we have all these poorly named, photoless "basketball courts" spammed into the system, I'm struggling with how to handle "new" wayfarer nominations in these places (which in many cases have probably already circulated in voting for months).
Here are some examples of submissions I've reviewed just in the past couple days:
1) City ABC YMCA (rec center) pinned at the Y's entrance. There is a photoless wayspot with the exact same name pinned inside the facility (presumably at the indoor basketball court).
2) Basketball Court at XYZ Park. There is a photoless wayspot pinned mere meters away with the name XYZ Park (presumably meant to represent the basketball court though it doesn't say so).
3) Court 2 at a park with 2 non-connected basketball courts where there already exists both a wayspot for Court 1 and a photoless wayspot for the "Courts" which is pinned at a different spot on Court 1.
Should we be marking some of these nominations as duplicates of the photoless wayspots and if so which? Some guidance would be appreciated.

I ‘d like answer to this - or at least some guidelines.
it seems unfair that a basketball court reviewed earlier and correctly voted to accept now starts getting marked as a duplicate all those original voters lose out. That submission may not resolve for awhile so is blocking the system.
Also it will be so complicated to unpick each case possible edit to title and/or description adding to workstream with nothing matching, and a photo maybe.
we need a holistic way to resolve this.
Can you submit them as part of the August Wayfarer Challenge?
Meanwhile, hopefully our PokemonGo "boots on the ground" are submitting edits - name, location, picture, description. If the basketball court already has a wayspot, maybe edit the imported one to be the entrance to the park/center/whatever.
The import hasn't made it to Ingress (neither have a lot of user-nominated waypoints and pictures). I'd love to help, but apparently Niantic doesn't want us involved, except in reviewing.
But all those edits etc. just damage the queue
But they're what Niantic wants. It's their database and their system. (Even when it sounds abusive to us volunteers.)
I've already reported a few duplicate courts that appeared. Waiting for those to process... poorly.
Considering that these courts are photoless with the name of the existing park, I will not enjoy random photos of grass as "parks".
