What about the fact that there’s a dispensary here?
Since I'm not familiar with your town, I would need to see description and supporting information describing how this is culturally relevant or what makes it local cultural hub. Without the necessary justification, it would still be a reject for me.
Home instead probably have some nice picnic benches you could nominate.
"Eligible," sure. I'd like to see the details provided before I would decide to accept or reject.
It’s nothing special, just like the one Tintino used as an example of an eligible submission.
I suppose that in the supporting information, we should definitely source that pic and mention which local businesses definitely promote social gatherings.
Neither was the example provided by Niantic in the Wayfarer challenge yet the powers that be said this is definitely eligible.
Please re-read the first post he provided:
Our Eligibility and Acceptance Criteria do not mean that the nomination will or should be accepted. There are many great nominations that meet one or two criteria but then end up being clear rejections based on location, intended use, presentation, and overall falling within the rejection criteria.
In the post you're selectively referring to, he did not say they must be excepted, nor did he even say the example provided should be accepted.
That’s a **** response. That picture is the example Tintino used to describe an eligible nomination. To suggest the example used to describe an eligible subject is itself an ineligible subject is completely obtuse.
You've hit on a critical shortcoming of the results presentation. They explained at the beginning how a wayspot should "tell a story" and mentioned several times in their explanations how the description could sway the nomination. Yet, by providing only one photo without context, they seem to be highlighting categorical eligibility, while their explanations explicitly say otherwise. It's contradictory, and they are not walking the talk. I hope they give more context in the presentation in their revisions.
Selectively? lmfao! I read the entire thread. Every post. He does explicitly state by proving a photographic example "a s-t-r-i-p mall that features one or more establishments that draws crowds, the plaza sign should be an adequate nomination". Some plazas and s-t-r-i-p malls may be more interesting than others but I have zero plans of ever nominating one because they are everywhere.
I mean these were the talking points in the first post you referred to.
based on location --> obviously the sign would need safe pedestrian access but do you have to place the pin at the sign or the plaza shopping area? Many of the plazas where I live have sidewalks along the street, hence safe access.
based on intended use --> pretty sure plaza's are intended for people to shop, eat, gather, and socialize. Not all plaza signs use the word plaza in the name of the location.
based on presentation --> not positive what that means. temporary or portable sign vs. permanent brick and mortar sign.
Guess we'll wait for the formal write-up and post assuming that happens. Matters more for reviewing and less for nominating to me.
Just a year ago you were a Niantic shill. How times have changed. Guess you really d.i.e a hero or live long enough to become the villain 😂
