Valid Criteria Still Seems Hit or Miss

As above, it's a weird one. I recently moved to a small village with very few stops, and I nominated the local Post Office since they're always a stop. In fact, my hometown has two for the same post office - the old location, and the new one across town (now it's moved again so they're both duds).
Anyway for some reason it was declined. So was my nomination for an address stone marker, which I've nominated one of elsewhere before.
I can't make sense of it, anyway I've appealed both of them. Has anyone experienced something similar?

There are definitely regional differences in reviewers. If your area has highly picky reviewers, it may be a good idea to go to submission help and make sure your photo, title, and description are as good as they can be to give yourself the best chance at success.
A proper Post Office should go through if not rejected for something like "mismatched location". This is what Niantic appeals were created for - use your 1 per month appeal for this.
