Pokémon stop Nominations
What’s your problem with DALGETY Bay in Scotland?
I’m stuck going through UK wide nominations and generally supportive.
but don’t get that from anyone as I can’t get anything approved.
so why?

I’m sorry you haven’t been getting anything approved. That can be very frustrating. We would love to help you improve your nominations if you would show us one or two. But be prepared some people are harsh critics.
May we see some of your rejected nominations? I don't recall reviewing anything from your area recently myself, but there are quite a few of us on here from the UK who can maybe give you some advice/help improve your nominations if we can see them.
Just be aware that if you're including screenshots in your post, it will get sent for moderation and look like it hasn't posted (but it has actually done so). You may need to wait a few hours for it to be approved.
I’d appreciated the help. But the time I’ve spent on this. The support I’ve given to other stops isn’t shared at all. I’ve built my information based on similar stops in Edinburgh and Glasgow and other towns where they have been accepted.
As Hank said, feel free to post your subs, I'm another UK player with many years of experience.
They’re all in Dalgety Bay Scotland. I’d not care if it was just for me. But I’ve helped a neighbours son get to level 37 and it gives them a break.
The stops are all accurate. Are all permanent fixtures. We have planters that go around the town and are year around.
the post box has a royal cypher and has been accepted in other areas and declined repeatedly.
even Mile markers on a costal path are declined.
all accepted in other areas.
Submitting similar stops seems like an appropriate strategy, doesn’t it? Unfortunately, criteria change over time and what may have been approved years ago may not meet criteria today. Wayfarer is not intuitive for players of the video games that run off of it.
As others said, load some screenshots of your nominations (if you use the paperclip to add them as attachments they don’t go into post approval) so that some experienced reviewers can give you specific feedback.
The Postbox stuff is very nuance, you have to know what the consensus is, everything bar E2R generally fairs well, E2R is a straight reject (or scottish crown for you)
Yeah those are Scottish crown E2R's, those aren't accepted as a rule.
if enough community members vote for it I understand it gets adapted into a stop.
im just asking the community to help develop the area. As if you don’t live in a major city centre there is nothing to do.
Post boxes are everywhere else; so why wouldn’t that be acceptable?
Because criteria and consensus are a thing. The E2R's are super mass produced and very (extremely) common, almost everywhere. The only postboxes generally accepted are pre-E2R's.
But it’s not common where I am. It’s nowhere else.
it’s a small town so that doesn’t make sense. People aren’t reading my information.
And see that’s the issue. People don’t read. They don’t check what’s close. They don’t look at the maps.
it’s literally of no difference to anyone if that’s a stop or not. But the service is 100% bias. To cover areas you stay in above other areas. We get the rejections.
it’s utter garbage
Yes they are and what your submitting doesn't meet criteria, E2R postboxes, flower planters and road/street signs aren't acceptable.
Then why are they in the category?
why can’t the community support and see there is nothing else available.
see total garbage. You’re holding on to rules that don’t work everywhere.
but don’t worry it’s just affects someone else.
What about St. Brides Kirk?
What category? I assume you mean the "what is it?" list? if so, that's not a list of eligible/acceptable submissions. Criteria has always existed, just because one area is rural or doesn't have many wayspots doesn't make it acceptable, sadly that's how it goes, your playing a game based on the real world.
Leisure Center looks like it has some soccer/football fields
It’s the other side of town, it’s far too long for him to walk and back.
this is the problem these are viable options. Permanent fixtures. But arbitrary rules that benefit city’s exclusively we get missed out.
we aren’t likely to get sculptures or murals painted anytime soon or any historic finds.
utter waste of time.
If I’m looking in the right area, it does seem like a lot of houses. Generally speaking, there won’t be much to nominate in neighborhoods like this. The criteria “just” changed that says parks with no signs are eligible, but those are going to be difficult. Local restaurants are eligible but often difficult to get passed as well. Any murals inside local restaurants? Unfortunately, your parks and playgrounds might be your only places for pokestops at the moment. It is a known issue that “rural and remote” areas are Under served.
No that anyone cares DALGETY Bay Scotland anything pops up. You could help out but really don’t expect anything as no one’s stuck in for us before.
There is one set of criteria for everyone, whether they’re in a remote reach of Scotland or the Sydney CBD or Easter Island or anywhere in between. You don’t get to just load the map with common detritus like ER2 post boxes and barrels of flowers just because you want more stops and can’t find anything else. And arguing with the commenters here - who by and large did not vote on your submission anyway - is going to get you nowhere.
Generally speaking, postboxes in general are not eligible as wayspots. The UK has a quirk here in that we do have some postboxes which are recognised as historic and that's why they're an exception to that rule. As others have said though, Scottish Crown/ERII postboxes don't meet that exception to the rule (unless they were painted gold as part of the London 2012 celebrations).
Planters are typically seen as generic street furniture, however, particularly artistic/unique ones may sometimes get approved.
Remember, Niantic make the rules, it's their database and they get to decide what they want populating that database. It can be difficult if residential areas have slim pickings, but that is unfortunately how things are sometimes. The following is a list of things that are sometimes found in residential areas/suburbs that make for good nominations. It's not an exhaustive list, I'm just thinking of stuff off the top of my head:
Parks, play areas, churches/places of worship, trail markers, outdoor fitness stations, sports pitches/clubs, community centres, pubs, popular local restaurants/cafés, murals/statues/sculptures/art, libraries (including Little Free Libraries), gyms, notice boards/info points, allotments/community gardens
Are there any of those things local to you?
You mentioned mile markers on the coast. What do they look like?
