What is the point of reporting invalid portals?

I have submitted some portals over and over again. Several of them I have provided evidence, including photos, here. What is the point? They get rejected. Some of these portals have been gone for years.

    I went through some of your threads...obviously you are not following the basic template in this board (at least you have to upload the screenshot of your in-game reports being rejected for the Wayfarer forum moderators to proceed), and some threads significantly lack photos.
