Two! I was surprised they went through so quickly.
I was home for a birthday over the weekend and had an afternoon to find any that had not been added and I hadn't spun yet. Both are blocked in Go by other things so I'll never see them here though :)
You have to go to the Lightship site to sign up then afterwards you can log in through the app. If you try to do it through the app google log in fails and you can't select a country on the Lightship sign in.
I also submitted, a few days before the two above, something near Inverness that was rejected ages ago and I still had the pictures for. It's still showing as provisional though so who knows which order they are being reviewed in.
Yeah, ive taken advantage of that already, there was a mural put on a building near me, but whoever submitted it put it in the wrong place, by a good 30 meters, which put it right next to another poi, so we couldn't fix it, this has meant we can put the edit in to fix it correctly
Other side note, the edit location range in this is a lot bigger than the standard range, haven't fully tested it yet, but as I said, could make a correct edit of 30m while that wouldn't have been allowed normally
It seems so. I just spotted one wayspot in the Ingress intel map and that was nominated and approved via Wayfarer app. If it is in Ingress intel map, it should be in other games too (if eligible per game rules).
How do I activate the VPS on a wayspot that already has 10 approved scans? Does Niantic select which ones get activated? Or do I have to make a submission to get it activated?
It seems to me that the POI nominees nominated from this Wayfarer application have been approved, not through normal review, but through ignorant or automatic approval by a completely unrelated Niantic staff member.
Therefore, if used by a good nominator, it is a game changer, but if used by an evil nominator, it is a game destroyer.
And are there any such good nominators left? If you ask, such nominators are almost extinct. Because we know of games where multi-accounting, account sharing, and location spoofing, which Niantic prohibits, are prevalent.
We are too vulnerable in a world with such players.
The app has unlimited submissions which it seems are not being judged by normal reviewers and you can submit something from anywhere I think so I'm not sure how multi accounts or spoofing would change anything with the app.
The main problem I can see is that it negates the need to review.
Why submit and wait two years or review 120 submissions for an upgrade if you can have something go through the system in a day?
It could be that Niantic have been hiring and training an elite team of 30 reviewers who can zoom through submissions with 100% accuracy and reviewing will become an archaic process*
Most people probably aren't going to use the app just now, and then when the app leaves beta or whatever it'd in just now, it will probably join normal wayfarer, I suspect niantic are doing it just now while they work out what needs fixed, what doesn't etc
Comments
But it is not possible to log on
See my message in this thread from 6th November
Both submitted on Saturday evening.

Niantic trying to be super casual.
”Hi there” “cheers” “what are you up to”
Thanks, pal.
Next time you pass by do you fancy doing a few scans for us too, buddy.
Have a good one, friend.
Oh dear
so having created a lightship account you can’t get in.
Servers acting up ?
it’s kept me logged in since yesterday, I might try logging out and in again.
Edit
I logged in and out no problem
Hi There,
You have another TARDIS. 😎
So this got things through very quickly?
Interesting and tempting 🤔
Wait 800 days or experiment 🤫

I just got a submission approved, will nominations made this way show in the games when they are approved??
Update, the one I submitted through the App passed already, think I might do the apps a lot more lol
Do that through Google chrome rather than Internet or whatever, seems to not let you pick country except on chrome
You have the ability to do location edits on POI that didn't appear due to being too close to others.
Handy as I had some where reviewers moved the location to the wrong place

It is a great tool for abusers because it has no limits and is not linked to game accounts.
Had three more approved through the Wayfarer app that only took a few days.

It is so tempting to just pile in a lot of stops rather than wait two years.
I gave one a try and it was approved such a potential game changer - not the app but the system.
I don’t want to flood the system or there will be 2 jammed systems.
is it best to give feedback via the TestFlight app or in here?
Think of yourself as a beta tester :)
It seems to be a manual activation. Better chance with 25+ approved scans.

*This hasn't happened.

I am doing some Beta testing. I submitted one yesterday and it is now in Ingress and Pokémon Go. Amazing.
it does encourage me to go find more.
It doesn’t like the word Covid 🙄
I was explaining why some outdoor exercise equipment was installed, so easy enough to leave out.
Not being able to include a link feels weaker.
Huh, submissions via the app are getting their decision at a speed of light?
Omw to resubmit nominations stuck in voting for 2 years-
