Slight correction on what I said, if you have .com, it doesn't like that either lol, so need to put a space between the . And the com lol, my younger years of arguing about gomu vs superman on YouTube comments have come in useful in getting round link blockers 🤣🤣
Another dumb question but how come everyone here get acceptance email and the Wayspots are live in the games in just few hours, while mine stuck being provisional Wayspot without any email?
Or are accepted Wayspots submitted via the app actually becoming provisional Wayspots? Mine was already 9 hours after submitted btw
They become provisional on nomination. Should they be approved then you receive an email and the wayspot is added to games at next sync ... Some are reporting sync issues ....
it acts as confirmation that it has been submitted.
It shows as provisional so that everyone can see that there is a submission for that point in the system. Presumably so that someone won’t submit another for that point.
this is only the case for wayspots submitted via the app.
Niantic Employee 1: How should we decide which locations become gyms in our new game?
Niantic Employee 2: What if we picked the one with the most photos and photo votes?
Niantic Employee 1: What if the players figure it out and start abusing the system? Should we consider other options?
Niantic Employee 2: Nah, that'll never happen!

Niantic Employee 1: So we're going to eventually let them vote on location changes with this new "Portal Recon" thing?
Niantic Employee 2: Yeah, saves us from having to hire more temps!
Niantic Employee 1: What if the players figure it out and start abusing the system? Should we recheck the locations against existing points of interest when they're moved?
Niantic Employee 2: Nah, that'll never happen!

Niantic Employee 2: Alright, I've almost got this new app for Wayfarer devs ready to go. I've got a dev signup website ready to go and everything. Just for the devs. Am I missing anything?
[Ex-Niantic Employee 1 feels a bit uneasy but is not sure why.]
There are no sync issues as of tonight. Pokémon GO and Ingress have been syncing fine this week and since the community started using the Wayfarer app to add wayspots last week.
I'm sorry to say that Niantic is approving your wayspots into the Lightship database, but some that might seem random are purposely BLOCKED by Niantic from "syncing" into Ingress and Pokémon GO. So although you are saving lots of time by submitting through the app for quick review, random submissions of yours will never appear in the games (and you'll never know which ones-could be trail markers, pools, community gardens, picnic areas, or anything really). Yes, they are lost to the "void" forever because your future nominations will be marked as a duplicate.
Niantic is operating from two different sets of criteria, one for Lightship, and another for the games. Instead of rejecting your submissions because the reviewer feels they don't meet criteria, they are accepted into Lightship but blocked from the games.
It's a shame, because those wayspots likely would have been approved via the normal Wayfarer nomination and review process (even if it took a couple tries).
As far I can tell, I've not had anything randomly blocked, everything I've had accepted so far has appeared in both games (cause what I've submitted so far was able to go into both)
I've got a comment waiting on mod check, cause I've got the screenshot of the iitc cell and wayfarer map. But quick explanation, it's in a park, smackbsng in ghe middle of an empty cell, nearest portal is like 50m away, im 99.99999999% sure its not geoblocked
It's a wee disc with Saturn written on it, it's part of a solar system trail in the park where the distances and sizes of the planets are to a scale of like 1 to 5 billion or something likenthat
9/10 are showing on IITC for me. The only one that isn't is Ham Pond. Here are the email for Ham Pond, one that was accepted just before and one just after. Last pic is where Ham Pond should show up.
longsh0t but could it be that in the automated system there is a block created by the education marker.
The only other thought was… is the pin on grass as opposed water as defined by OSM tags? These can sometimes be different from reality especially when trees get in the way.
A new POI has appeared and no one is reviewing it.. I am pretty sure right now. I think almost everything is going to getting approved and it will break the game. I had to correct the typos..

Do you know what they submitted?
Emmm, no lol. I know he submitted something near a school, when I say near, he said it was across the Road, and that his email said safe access
Thanks.

If you've submitted one, it will show on the map even though its not been decided upon yet.
Think its just ingress that's having rhe sync issues, but that might be on purpose because Anomaly, whatever that is
it acts as confirmation that it has been submitted.

Please forgive me if my timelines are off.

I'll take that back, I've just noticed one hasn't appeared, well that sucks. Strange that they removed it
App not available in my country 😢
@Gazzas89-PGO
can you tell us a bit more about the one that has not appeared?

Omg guys... I have submitted a POI yesterday evening and it has been accepted already. I didn't get any emails tho.
Anyway.. less than 15 hours.. this is a game changer.
For the photos instead is taking longer. It's the first thing I have tried and still nothing has popped up
@Gazzas89-PGO That sounds a brilliant wayspot and real pity in terms of encouraging exploration that it is not in.
i will have a careful look once it’s unmoderated 🙄😂
I got a photo approved but no confirmation nor acceptance e-mail. Only noticed it from Ingress that the photo had appeared there.
@The26thDoctor-PGO
when you look at IITC as roads there is an education marker
longsh0t but could it be that in the automated system there is a block created by the education marker.
The only other thought was… is the pin on grass as opposed water as defined by OSM tags? These can sometimes be different from reality especially when trees get in the way.
My POI didn't appear neither in IITC or Ingress.. but it's visible only on the Wayfarer app.. hmm
Potentially. It's hard to tell but the pin was here just in front of the bench.
The Academic Art Class is a pin placed by someone a few streets down but again it's hard to know for sure if that's the block.
IITC on roads
See what shows on @Gazzas89-PGO pic when it appears.
This was the submission that would previously be put straight into Nia voting :thinking emoji:
A new POI has appeared and no one is reviewing it.. I am pretty sure right now. I think almost everything is going to getting approved and it will break the game. I had to correct the typos..
just trying to gather ideas as to why perfectly good poi could be blocked.
it is very close to that wrong academic art class
That's the best shot I think. Either way it was fun making a little gif :D
You made a Niantic related GIF…with no Futurama images? Sorcery!
