And when was it submitted.
Just trying to get an idea of the backlog. I haven't done an appeal in last 2 months, but did 3 in a row before none of which has gone into voting yet.
My last reviewed appeal was decided on October 13th - from an appeal I opened on March 30th.
I’ve lost track a bit but what Shilfiell says sounds about right.
i have appealed 1 each month and have7 outstanding……..
Though ideally I would want to withdraw 3 of these as they are now in game so will be duplicates.
The joys of long resolution times
I have one in Niantic Review for 6 or 7 weeks. It was appealed in January 2022. It was orignally nominated October 2017.
I can't say for sure when my most recent appeal processed, because anything older than summer 2020 does not get emails (confirmation or results). But I know it's been several months since one went thru.
I was coming here to post the exact same thing. I have ones from May, still not even word about. And it was before that even, I even had one looked at.
My friend submitted an appeal in January 2022 and got accepted on the 13th of October. 😂
They typically take 4-6 months to be looked at for me.
The guys and girls that did these aren't there anymore. Someone from accounting or pr circles by from time to time and does a little on the side
They were pulled off to review nominations that were pulled into Niantic Voting minutes after pressing Submit.
But then they were pulled off of that to review nominations from app developers.
They should get back to appeals eventually. Unless it's been so long they don't remember. Maybe, all the reviewer contractors who ever did appeals have left the company, so no one remembers.
Please don't pull off Niamtic employees.
We already do enough for the company.
They were also shifting the backlog…..busy bees
Also, noone that is left there cares about this.
This whole appeal thing was doomed since last year, when the wagon was wheeled into the dig. The management surely was furious when appeals were given out daily for a month or two? instead of only once a month.
Who is to blame? The person wasnt there when it happened, took care of other things, and now has left the building entirely.
Do not blame the useres that took sure advantage of the daily appeal. They still havent worked off the backlog, and it seems it wont happen any time soon.
Just get accustomed to the idea that Wayfarer isnt anymore.
@rodensteiner-ING Why do you think management was furious? It was a well-known bug and surely had a trivial fix. It seems like it was a conscious and ill-advised decision to continue one per day. The main victims are people who didn't appeal anything until later, since they now have to wait for the backlog to be cleared before their one or two appeals are processed.
If I remember it right, it was a mix of people beign on holiday and people with a time off, so basically no one was there. Niantic had to bring in people to work off the backlog, people that needed some education. Guess they are all gone now
Remember autumn 2020 when Niantic promised to review ALL past rejections? Starting with those rejected as "Generic Business"? Here's a quote from https://wayfarer.nianticlabs.com/new/help/niantic-wayfarer-november-2020-ama
Q. With the updated criteria, there was a promise to rereview previously rejected nominations that may meet the updated requirements. How will that work?
A. While this is a big effort, we are already working on reviewing past rejections starting with the Generic Business category. Keep an eye on the forum for updates on other efforts related to this initiative.
If you were alert last December January - you could make Niantic keep their word - by appealing one of your 2017-2020 rejections per day.
Otherwise, we're just collecting broken promises by the Wayfarer team. (There's probably a country song in there somewhere.)
The blame for the state and decline of Wayfarer over the last 18 months although I'm sure some would say a lot longer should most definitely not be directed towards the Wayfarer Team but to Niantic management and their choice not to invest money or time fixing it.
I submitted an appeal recently about a few weeks ago. I went into voting quite quickly and accepted. Yet I’ve got about 5 languishing in the queue that had been waiting almost a year now. I don’t understand how newer appeals are being looked at but not older ones.
I just had one reach a decision. It was one that I resubmitted in addition to waiting for the appeal to process so it's been a stop for months and months at this point. So of course it was rejected as a duplicate. The appeals queue could get so much shorter if they would allow us to revoke them.
I've heard that happens. The only reason I can think for that is maybe they think older appeals are more difficult to process if there have been changes to the area while newer ones should be more straight-forward. So if it takes them 8 minutes to process an old appeal and 3 minutes to process a new appeal, they think they are being efficient and getting to more appeals. I am not sure that's actually happening but there's at least some logic to that.
All my appeals have been accepted so far. Some duplicates as I got sick of waiting so resubmitted them only for Niantics to duplicate them. All my current appeals currently waiting are I’d say quite simple ones that should have been accepted in the first place. I’m not resubmitting them otherwise what’s the point of an appeal.
One of my appeals from May 1st just went into voting within the past few days.
Ah so has one of mine but don’t know which appeal month it was. It is now a duplicate 🙄
I've had 2 appeals in Niantic voting for at least a month now, previous ones have had a decision within a couple of days usually
Seems someone from Niantic has read here and put things into 🎈 Voting.
Someone must have taken up the old stuff for review in their lunch break
And mind has now been decided as a duplicate
My appeals sent in on May 7 and July 25 have yet to go into voting. @Daemare-PGO's May 1 notice above gives me SOME hope that the golf driving range may fiiiiinally get looked at by Niantic "soon".
personally i like that there is someone back at the appeals, but i dont like that they have no clue what they are doing there.
The PROPERTY TYPE. It is A PROPERTY that is called "on the street in a tiny village".
ON A SCULPTURE-PATH.
It isnt in anyones front yard or a private property. The BIG House that is in the background is also used as a goldsmith - as you can see when you take the time and zoom in a bit.
Maybe next time reject it because there is no walking path (!!!)
What else can i do to NOT have Niantic reject a perfect valid candidate?
Oh I forgot to mention I had an appeal enter voting and then back into the queue a while ago. It hasn’t been looked at since. Wonder if that’s the day they gave up 🤷🏻♂️
The appeal I'd put in on May 7 was finally approved overnight. This was a golf "driving range" that was previously rejected some five times by reviewers.
I cannot hazard a guess at whether appealing was any faster, given how much reviewers hated this particular one. Maybe once the backlog is finally through, it could be quicker to appeal? Sometimes? But I suspect not yet.
One left in their queue before I start adding to their backlog again lol
