Can you double the character limit for titles to 256 characters, and descriptions to 1024?

Basic ask I think? Longer titles and descriptions so that we can better submit new Wayspots?

I can't let this go without commenting.
I AGREE with longer descriptions.
TO THE DEPTHS OF MY SOUL I DISAGREE with longer titles.
Please ignore all such future requests from J.
Aw, you mean they’ll ignore my Futurama question too? 😢
I certainly will. Lol.
I’m with her on this. As is people can give things Borat-esque movie titles with the number of characters available. Long descriptions are fine though.
I know that @Belahzur-ING would love Scanner [REDACTED] length descriptions for sure. 512 can be a bit short.
I certainly would 🤣 I've said for months, you [Niantic] want me to squeeze 300yrs of history into 1 paragraph? does anyone else see how that might be a bit of a problem? 🤣
You can have that, so long as I get titles too!
So, I just submitted what I think is my oldest building yet, dating to the very early 1700's.
Challenge: Write almost 400yrs of history into 512 characters.... It may come as a shock to many of you, but doing that is quite a struggle when I run out of character space after just 100yrs-ish, since I include the architect, listing number etc, still trying to work out how to add 300 more years of text into like 50 characters.
Hey @NianticAaron when you told me "improve", how does one do that when your flawed system doesn't allow it? I'm still waiting several months later for an answer from you to that question that you ignored me on previously.
Scanner Redacted description lengths when plox Niantic? Can I get a circle back on that? 🤣
I wonder how many read the descriptions or even the titles if they have a GO Plus or PokéBall Plus to “interact” with the POI.
Most wouldn't read the description even if they don't have a Go+ , quite right too.
As a Go player the 10 memorial benches I can spin on a 10 minute walk are great. As someone who enjoys Wayfarer and thinks the idea of Wayfarer is great they are garbage :)
Memorial benches could be interesting if they are for important/famous people who have contributed to the community & the description tells you about who the person is & what they’ve accomplished; which is what their criteria says. However, if it is just “So&So Memorial Bench”, “almost comfortable, publicly accessible place for butts to gather upon.”; yeah, hot garbage.
I wouldn't say it's that black and white. Generally they are just
RIP John Smith, relative sadly missed etc etc. The large amount near me are all of that type.
I have had one that's just stop here and admire the view added about 6 months ago though
Oh boy, lots of comments. Must be lots of votes on my title question! Oh…
Yeah, that could have been a lot better. You can actually make something like that good if you look up the obituary of the person being memorialized. Sometimes it’s just “that was a nice person”. But there are also some pretty good ones. I found a memorial oak tree for a guy who helped get the senior centers updated and improved among other things to try and make the senior citizens lives a little better. That’s a community service that’s worthy. Just placing a bench isn’t quite as good, but I bet if they got a bench they probably did some other good things. Just remember, obituaries are kinda like a final highlight reel of your life, and if you did good things for the community then they’re going to be in there. That one only seems like it has first names on there so you would probably have to ask someone on the council who those people were and look up their info.
The one I posted?
That's not a memorial as such, just a donation for the elderly. Cameron and MacKinnon are most likely a local business. Sounds like accountants or plumbers :)
