Is being a police station or fire station a rejection criterium? I fully disagree, the rules are very clear on that:
Location obstructs the driveways of emergency services or mayinterfere with the operations of fire stations, police stations, hospitals, military bases, industrial sites, power plants, or air traffic control towers.
Most emergency services have a public front entrance. In case of emergency, they use a driveway, usually around the back. So if the location marker is far away enough from any entrances/exits, for example a large logo or sign on the side of the building not used as entrance or exit, there should be no problem.
@Losifer026-ING If the artist helped make the artwork is irrelevant. Look at most Baroque/Renaissance painters, sculptors and architects. Rembrandt, da Vinci, Michelangelo, more often than not, their pupils did the actual work, and the the artist just put his name on it, yet everyone considers it the work of the artist (and I agree).
But my point is: I know architecture is eligible. But in practice, it rarely gets the same (if any) love as e.g. sculptures get. Nominating a sculpture? Less than 48h later it is added to the games. Architecture? Rejected after a week in voting, appealed, rejected again, etc.
Little footnote: lol "utilitarianism", did you mean turf polishing? 🤭

tbf, the approved appeal supports their original claim.
the invalid wayspot report on the police station was denied at face value.
an appeal was created, arguing that placement obstructs emergency services.
the appeal was subsequently approved, and the wayspot was retired.
still coincides with the actual language employed in the acceptance/rejection criteria articles.
More details on what type of business are allowed would be nice. I saw a local tile store and plumbing store pop up near me recently as waypoints.
