Why did Niantic let the daily appeal glitch at the beginning of the year get so bad?

This had to be a glitch that Niantic was aware of way prior to February 15th, 2022. I do not understand why Niantic took forever to stop this issue. Sadly, it is a big contributing factor of why the backlog was so huge and appeals are taking 6+ months to resolve.

Maybe Niantic doesn't agree that it was bad. And how do you know that " it is a big contributing factor of why the backlog was so huge and appeals are taking 6+ months to resolve"? Unless you work there, you don't know. Something entirely different could have happened. You're just guessing. Your question probably won't be answered, because it has so much unrelated smoke for Niantic to sort through.
You could ask your question without so many unsubstantiated conclusions: "Did the daily appeal affect the amount of time it takes for appeals to be resolved?"

Ooh - I can answer this one!
Yes.
Answered. Next question?
@NvlblNm-PGO You still don't know that. Maybe the pandemic took all their reviewers. Maybe an unrelated bug occurred, and everyone was pulled off reviewing appeals to do something else. Maybe a virus got all their computers. Maybe some subroutine broke, so they couldn't review them if they wanted to.
That's why I asked the question. If they answer it (which they won't), THEN we'd know. Until then, unless you're a Niantic employee working on that system, you can only guess. You can't state anything as fact.
All or none of those (and an infinite number of other possibilities) could be true and my answer is still undeniably correct and 100% factual. No internal knowledge is needed to understand that more appeals leads to longer turnaround times.
