Additional information: Farol de Naufragados, or Naufragados Lighthouse, is a classicla lighthouse on Santa Catarina Island's south tip. It is an historical landmark built in 1861 in the middle of a state nature reserve called Parque Estadual da Serra do Tabuleiro. It is at the tip of the easiest and most touristic hiking trail of the island, since it also leads to a secluded pristine beach that can also be reached by boat as well.From the observation deck at the location, people can watch the sun going down on the continent, the opposing ilset of araçatuba with its 1742 fortress, and packs of dolphins that live on the straits...
