Why do locations that don't need more stops get them

This is a message I wish I sent in with my appeal.

I'm super upset about the review done on my submission, not only does everywhere else in my town have multiple stops in the exact same location, some literally on top of each other, and I have 1 in the north west end of town, only 1, and on top of that every other park in the whole town, 7 parks total, only 1 park doesn't have a gym, can you guess which one that is? The only one I submitted, how does a trail that had 8 gyms on it already get approved for 4 more, that's absurd, totally ridiculous if you ask me, who ever reviewed my submission was a terrible reviewer, I know multiple families and people on my street alone that play pokemon and every one of them hate that there is nothing in our area, I'm extremely upset and at this point in my life I don't have time to waste on going out for hours playing this game, not only would a stop here benefit myself but tons of other local players too, this is probably gunna be the biggest reason I'm gunna quit playing this time. But anyway I don't expect to be helped out with this just thought I'd inform you that you have people approving poor locations and denying one's that would be better. Thanks.

What do you mean locations don't need more stops? Eventually you'll expand your community play area by adding more stops into wider area.

What is your location of your neighborhood?

How do areas like this exist and I'm stuck with getting denied because the area I wanted had a stop 50m away, then every other stop is over 1km away and having a new born I don't really wanna have to walk that far to just play the game

The green boxes are where I suggested the stop, it's the park sign and would allow people to play without going into the park. Which I feel for most adults would be nice.

I just don't get how places like the two pictures above even exist but the location I submitted got denied because of that 1 stop

To add to what has been said.

The creation of any pokestop or gym involves several processes.

Players nominating: The more players actively nominating and reviewing the more it is likely that points will be added. It is difficult because if there is nothing locally there are less likely to be active nominator.

Reviewers: The vast majority of reviewing is done on a voluntary basis by fellow players. The reviewers have no part in stop or gym creation. The task is to agree whether or not a nomination meets the guidelines.

Lightship: Agreed wayspots enter the lightship database. This is independent of any games, and it is what is used by reviewers to check for duplicates.

The game: Each game accesses the database for wayspots to transfer to that games playing area. The game developers write programs which draw down the information from lightship, then select which wayspots to use, and in the case of Pokémon Go which will become gyms.

Understanding how the game will select wayspots is important information if you want to avoid the frustration of approved spots not appearing. Google S2 cells and Pokémon Go. This is why the actual process of nominating is not as simple as it might appear.

    The Appeal

If you had sent that message with the appeal it would make no difference. This is because just like the initial review of the wayspot the appeal is only looking at the individual nomination and whether it meets acceptance criteria. So it needs to focus on the rejection reasons and provide information as to why that is in error.

    Help

if you give us details of the area you are interested in improving we will try to help as we all go through the ups and downs of submitting.

If you want help, post your full nomination, including location, all text, images, and rejection reasons. This is best done with screenshots, but add them via attachment (the paperclip at the bottom of the comment field) rather than imbedded, because imbedded images all go to post approval, which won’t get approved before Monday. Ask questions that are directed at gathering information and learning how to improve. Plenty of users here would be more than happy to provide feedback and recommendations on how to succeed in a Wayfarer system that often runs entirely contrary to a player’s understanding of the map.

If you want to complain, take it elsewhere. Nobody in here voted against your nomination, Niantic doesn’t care, and taking your frustrations out on this forum will not make you any friends.
