Would a permanent children at play sign be eligible for a PokeStop? Or is that not visually unique enough? Trying to figure out things on my side of town to suggest.

Probably not - it is just a generic street traffic sign.
More importantly, it does not likely meet any criteria: a great place to socialize, exercise, or explore. Children don't play at the sign. People don't gather at the sign to socialize. Since it's a generic road sign, it's not notable for exploration.
Hello and welcome @Dr3bb21-PGO
It’s great to hear you are out and about looking for places and objects to submit.
Something like the sign you have given is as you say just a standard sign so won’t meet the acceptance criteria.
if you want help please do ask more about what sort of things might work or tell us the area that you are looking at ….some of us like doing some virtual tourism via Google.
No, you need to put 1 star and you will see "critéria of wayspots" a line with person ;). And its a child to
Thanks, I appreciate it a lot.
Thanks for the insight too! I appreciate it very much. The part of town that I am wanting to add stops is heavily residential and the only thing that I found that was acceptable is a baseball field. I don't really think there is very much of anything else this area to suggest. But again thanks for the insight.
Try putting up a little library, or if the kids are at play, maybe look at the playground they are playing at for unique things?
Is this the type your talking about @Dr3bb21-PGO?
That is possible. I was thinking maybe putting some kind of art or metal statue or something like that, but I would probably need permission from the city to do that first.
Yes, that is what I was talking about.
Thank you for that. I wanted to make sure. I can agree with what others have said above but I also understand wanting to make the platform better as well. I appreciate your question. Keep up the good work. I wanted to share a photo so it could be used by all for future reference when viewing this post.
I’m aware in some places that residential areas have little else other than houses, which makes it difficult. If it’s older housing there is often some potential points that have occurred because changes over time.
Is there anything else other than a baseball field - a picnic area with permanent tables.
Are there any areas that have been left as not built up?
Is there scope for any information boards? Covering the history of the area or wildlife, sustainability etc
Could a exercise trail be marked out eg 1 km route that people could walk?
Is there a public wall where a local group could create a mural as a community project?
Are there different kinds of trees being planted - a plaque at each saying what it is and a little more would be good and could make a trail to explore.
is there anywhere where people meet up? Religious places?
If there is a residents group or local councillor can they get interested in these sorts of things.
