Should I give up on this building?
Hi all,
The community and Niantic both rejected my nomination, but I still believe this is an impressive building. It does not look like a generic building to me at all, what do you think?

What do you know about the building? Is the architect well-known? Does it have any sort of landmark status?
I think you mean this building https://goo.gl/maps/af1D2a19Cw4VgG7G6
As @Hosette-ING says - is there anything about it architectually that makes it significant in any way. If yes you need to add that to your nomination. As it stands it is a modern brick building. With a photo of the bit that makes the carpark.
Perhaps the Cafe bar on the corner - the Lion of Flanders would make a better nomination. But you would have to make clear the access to all ages (Family Friendly). Like in the UK kids are allowed in pubs, same in Australia, NZ etc .
That looks amazing to me. It’s certainly not generic.
..... clearly inhavent a clue what a generic building is, cause that in no way is a generic building. I would have accepted that. But, you may have some people who need it to be special. Find a website about the building (and put it in the supporting info) amd use that to tell of some of the history
The evening picture in the link provided by @rufoushumming-PGO (thanks for that) looks a lot more impactful and distinctive.
Thanks all! I will re submit it :-)
I found some more info and it seems it almost won an architect award (!)
BOB361 haalde WAF shortlist met VDAB-project in Sint-Niklaas (architectura.be)
It looks like there are rejection reasons such as "private mansion or farm".
The rejection reason seems to be there, so the rejected element should be removed for approval.
I recommend that you check for any elements that conflict with the rejection requirements.
@Elijustrying-ING yeah if you mean this photo https://goo.gl/maps/e1f4J7J5PNYcZYSy6
It is pretty good. @Thascorpion-PGO Try and get a shot like this. Though DO NOT use this. Take your own photo. Then it becomes really distinctive. Include the link in supporting information to the award short listing. Read the award listing and see what significant reasons were recognised and look to use some of that in your description. Keeping it short mind. Do not say almost won. Just focus on the short listing.
My google Maps can't open that link
Neither can mine
I've attached it as a screenshot.
@Hosette-ING Thank you
@Elijustrying-ING @Gazzas89-PGO I just tried again and it was perfect! Weird. Copy and paste? google map APP or using web browser. Web browser should be fine!
I'm an Architectural Historian by trade, yeah definitely generic! Wow! In the US if this was over 50 years old it and met one of the four criteria of the National Register of Historic Places it could be nominated and listed in the NR. Also buildings less than 50 years old can qualify for the NRHP if they meet criterion consideration G for buildings less than 50 years old. I know colleagues that would flip out at the sight of this generic building.
Google maps app, so that might have been the issue
