Pokéstop / wayspot disappeared at the blink of an eye

Hello everyone.

I just want to know why I got a pokestop wiped out for apparently no reason. When I submitted its nomination to Wayfarer, after a month or so it was voted and accepted by the community, so wasn't it meant to be a valid one?

Yesterday, my nomination showed up both in Ingress and Pokémon Go, but didn't take more than a couple of hours for it to get disappeared, so I suspect it could have been due to an AR Scan (which I've read theories about), or even one toxic player reporting it with multiple accounts.

It's not the first time it happens in different points of my town. In fact, there are other players who are very outraged because they see every single of their nominations erased right after being accepted and appeared. However, this time it felt extremely weird because it was only available for very short time. Thus I give no credit anymore to the general idea that there's someone in Niantic revising if a report is true or just sent to bother the rest of players.

I'm getting increasingly tired of this issue, so I don't think it's worth requesting wayspots/pokestops anymore. Especially because I've always tried to be honest and stick to the criteria, which Wayfarer is supposed to be there for. These criteria seem like an 'official' way of giving an answer to the players who wonder how the whole process works, but I keep seeing it opaque, as it is, for instance the relationship between Ingress and Pokémon Go, or the 'jail system' which is used to determine the new wayspots; as it is how they really deal with fake GPS accounts, multi-accounts taking over every gym and so on...

I know it's easier to keep playing Pokemon Go as I've been since 2016: with no worries about wayspots etc. Letting some 'experts' do the hard work behind it. But come on, Niantic. Wayfarer is for general people, not for experts...

Excuse my essay, but I'm annoyed.

Scans do not contribute to having a wayspot removed.

What are the coordinates and name of the Wayspot?

Additionally, is there a sponsored Pokéstop or Gym very close to your wayspot?

Coordinates (taken from Google Maps because I don't know if I can extract them directly from Wayfarer): 37.604446, -1.306854

Name: Cartel de bienvenida a Los Rincones

    No sponsored Pokéstops/Gym nearby.

It is very odd for it to disappear so quickly. Do other pokestops in that area show up? Just out of curiosity, is it on or near a private residence? Or a business? Perhaps the business owner requested its removal? I’m just trying to come up with ideas. This isn’t a military base or anything like that?

Yes, I think it's odd too. In fact, this is the first time it happens to me. The pokestop (better said: the item itself) isn't placed in a private area, since it's beside a dry river bed. Also, the plaque refers to a public area, well-conditioned with a sidewalk and very few traffic. The only thing that could be considered 'business' nearby is an oil station placed a few meters away, whose entry is on the other side. Perhaps the game itself considered it to be inside private property, idk. If I wasn't so used to this kind of removals I would just try to get it back by requesting it in-game again. But dude, I'm tired, outraged haha.

Btw, additional info, just in case it helps: the pokestop first appeared in Ingress (as it's normal) but then disappeared first from PoGo, unlike the others I got erased previously. But I can tell it didn't last a single entire day in any of the games.

Maybe other useful info: this zone seems to have some 'interesting' background. I mean, there is a plague of toxic players who have claimed to be reporting new stops as soon as they show up, using multi-accounts. Mostly, their obsession seems to be Ingress, but they do what they can to bother us the rest of players, in PoGo too ofc. It isn't something anyone can provide evidence of: how can someone report them even knowing who they are, when they use 5-6 accounts for each color, monopolizing the same gym etc. And if you know Spanish (my mother-tongue) and take a look at the Ingress Comms channel around my area, you can have some fun learning a handful insults that can't be heard in many kilometers around, perhaps even in countries around. The lack of respect among the players in my town is something out of this world.

So yes, m8: this is an odd and tricky situation. I really wish someone in Niantic kept an eye on the area. With that being done, I would accept every new single unfair pokestop removal.

The weird thing about this situation is that Niantic rarely removes wayspots based on in game reporting only. You usually have to appeal their decision, here, in this forum, to get them to take any action.

Oh, I had no idea of that tbh. Then, it's highly unlikely that the 20-30 previous removals that other people in my town suffered last year had been discussed here, too, judging by their complaints. Idk how it works from inside. What annoys me most is that I keep getting the feeling that Wayfarer itself isn't clear about it: 'accepted' should mean 'accepted', not 'needing to wrap my head around avoiding removal'. Like criteria are fragile.

Anyways, thanks a lot for your reply, cz at least I get to learn sth about it :)
