Pokestop distances.

Hello everyone!
I'd like to share some thoughts with you. Why the distance that's allowed between pokestops is the same in both big cities and smaller ones? I mean sure you can't make pokestops in every single corner but i live in a tiny island. Having the same distance between pokestops as New York for example doesn't make sense to me.

Niantic are inept when it comes to game development. Their choices never make sense.
Easier to be consistent with the spacing rules. (Not that they have been historically but going forwards they can be)
I could have a small area where there’s only a few houses. Let’s say Centralia, because I like to see how many people are still there. (5 as of 2020)
Let’s say that this area gets smaller spacing rules due to density/population etc. What happens in 20 years if they sort things out and decide to build a new massive neighbourhood in the same place? Are the smaller spacing rules still in play? At what point do you change from a smaller spacing rule to the larger one?
The spacing rules only exist because they are an easy out for Niantic.
There is no reason that every poi can't show, in Go at least.
niantic probably doesn't need to worry too hard about their 20 year game plan.
Yeah probably not, but I didn’t see Centralia changing much, if at all, before at least then so went with 20 years in my example.
I have played pogo many times at small POI cluster locations and it already starts to get difficult to select exactly what you want. At very large clusters you are pretty much reliant on external tools to play.
The same issue arises in Ingress as well just at a later stage due to the smaller representation of POIs on the gameboard.
Not everything has to be a stop or a gym.
The 'redundant' poi could be a point on the map with a pop up showing picture, description and rewarding a gift, 100 stardust. Wayfarers raison d'etre is after all about creating and sharing a map of poi. Why limit the sharing of that knowledge?
They could be incubators where you can return and collect your hatched egg. They could limit the amount each week or use their spacing rules to not effect sales so they players have to 'Go outside' to collect them.
They could be Pokémon Centres for reviving, there are a multitude of things Niantic could implement.
It would take time, effort and money though. Creating spacing rules is the easy, lazy option of a company indifferent to its playerbase.
It would also stop the 'Where iz my P0kerst0p threads" which would make @PkmnTrainerJ-ING happy so it's worth it for that alone.

If that happens though, I’ll have to make up for it with more Futurama GIFs so be careful with your m0nkey paw wish.
Really, you will allow me to say ****, uncensored but not the animal who has the magical wishing paw?
I do agree with @The26thDoctor-PGO though and I’ll share this comment from the Pokémon GO forum on a topic I made.
“it would be great if the unused PokéStops sometimes showed as berry trees or picnic areas that can be used.”
(it’s me, talking to me, I am the only user)
Would be great if Ingress could also have some diversity in Portals too if that were the case though.
Nothing to see. Testing the word filter.

Creating a new kind of PoGo wayspot for non-pokestops/non-gyms is 100% my favorite solution for this problem. But sadly I can't see Niantic implementing it when they're barely running the game and fixing its bugs as it is.
