No, this does NOT get you a pokestop!!!
"Because there are not many pokestops in this area and it is a large villa area with many families who play pokemon."
From someone trying to nominate a square public lawn with nothing but grass on it.

You're right, thank you.
Large open spaces that are used like parks by multiple families actually can be eligible. They are very difficult to get voters to pass. And it certainly isn't helped by using the reasoning that "there aren't many pokestops in the area."

Also, parks and plazas are listed on the eligibility criteria as a great place to be social with others.
I have tried to nominate a few of these large greenspaces in multifamily neighborhoods. My reasoning is that these are often one large communal yard to serve the whole neighborhood. Like, if you live in a townhouse or condo that doesn't have a yard, there is often some public space where you could go throw the frisbee or play catch with your kids. You have to share that space with your neighbors but that's what makes it a place to be social. We have no trouble accepting dog parks which provide this function for animals, but we deny the spaces that would provide just outdoor space to kids. Weird.
It's a fair statement, te vast majority of players are Go players.
I thought those hang ups from the days of Ingress when bearded old men would get angry and take delight in their schadenfreude were gone... maybe not :)
I’m meant to grow a beard if I play Ingress? Dang it.
A stick on one will do.
Here are some that I encountered in a single session of reviewing. Precisely zero of them are useful supporting information or have any bearing on whether something should be accepted.
"Accessible 24/7"
"Easy parking nearby"
"There isn’t any poke stop here"
"Popular area"
"There is very few pokéstops around this area."
"Need more locations to safely walk and play go in an inder served area"
@SeaprincessHNB-PGO I know parks and park-like areas are eligeble.
In my country we have grassy areas between houses / buildings as you discribed. And I'll keep your comment in mind for future reference.
Only this one wasn't even big enough to throw a (poke)ball in...
