Can anything be done about spam submissions?

There's a candidate that I've reviewed and rejected six times in the last couple of weeks... a completely unremarkable glass shop. It happens to be in the middle of a residential neighborhood and I'm fairly certain that someone has been submitting it over and over in the hopes of scoring a couch.

I see this fairly often. It seems like people submit the same things multiple times in the hopes that they'll get lucky and one of them will be approved. Unfortunately it looks like it worked this time... as I prepared to reject it for a sixth time I noticed that it was now a duplicate. Is there anything that we as reviewers can do when someone keeps playing the submission lottery?

If it's anything like this one, eventually Niantic will just accept it and the worry will be out of your mind.

You can try the Help Chat. Say something like "I've reviewed this # times over the last length of time and the submitter has made no effort to improve the nomination, thus they are spamming the system with ineligible nominations."

Can anything be done? Absolutely. Niantic can use a bot to auto reject multiple nominations from a single contributor that use the same pin location, title, or image, and then ban that Wayfarer for abusing an already-overloaded system. I’m confident they have plenty of people already in the office who could get this done in a matter of minutes.

Will anything be done? Absolutely not. That nomination will eventually get approved, and that Wayfarer will face only rewards, not any consequences.

I’ve come across this also. There was a florist or wood worker business (I can only remember it was a wooden sign with a flower on) based at someone’s home.

I rejected it 12 times. On the 13th review, it had gone live on the map.
