My time for review is always limited and then I am slow - just the way my brain works 🤪 - I am always mystified how people get through so many without imploding.
But it does mean that I have been getting pitifully few Indonesia ones and so far only voted to approve 2 (having reread @patsufredo-PGO s early info I realise that the gated entrance I declined would normally be accepted)
I had expected a higher percentage. Frankly it feels like I am wasting my effort as others are zipping through.
Having read another thread I’m considering switching to Cape Verde (taking advantage of being able to switch and switch back) as it sounds as though even if I only get a similar number it would have a bigger local impact.
Are we expecting any change in the flow of Indonesia ones? This would help me stay there.
Is this idea to switch just plain wrong, don’t want to ditch the challenge but it’s not feeling satisfying.
- sorry for the brain dump but any comments welcome
I'm still on a ratio of about 75:1, UK: Indonesia.
I've had one easy accept and one easy duplicate but it doesn't seem like I'm actually helping much tbh.
I put myself here at the bonus change. I'll go through 100 more reviews later and see if it changes or if I'm still looking at public footpath arrows...
Hello @The26thDoctor-PGO, you can try changing location to Denpasar in Bali. I am reviewing there and the ratio is definitely better than 75:1.
It’s a Hindu-majority place so there are many religious statues and temples around.
I actually have 20+ nominations stuck In Queue from visiting there last year so there is a significant backlog. 2 more nominations were stuck In Voting for months, now 1 just got accepted, so this challenge is working.
I'd go so far as to say this entire 'challenge' is structured in a way that incentivizes blindly approving everything. The tiered rewards are also contingent on total approvals.
Indonesia is seemingly a risky pick as well.
As much as I want to help an underserved community, it's borderline impossible to identify if what I'm looking at is public property, a business open to the public, a private business, a residential community or prp, most of the time.
Google translate is overwhelmingly flawed, and it appears mini shrines outside of residences may or may not be common.
In many cases I'm stuck voting 3* because i truly have no idea, and skips are far too limited for something like this.
Haven't done much reviewing yet since the event started but so far I think I've only seen one Indonesian nomination to review and it's not from the bonus location.
After a few days (first bonus in Makassar, now Bali):
A lot of these are hard for me to review because they provide very few details in the description or supporting information, usually just the same thing 3 times which may or may not translate (and/or asking for more pokestops, please accept, etc like you see everywhere.) Places of worship are usually good.
I have a hard time distinguishing between property uses and what might be PRP, or whether ped access is actually safe.
Many of the photos are not good - taken from far away with the Wayspot hard to identify, many vertical when they would have benefited greatly by being horizontal.
I don't have exact metrics but I feel like I am getting fewer from Indonesia than I did during the Russia challenge (perhaps because that one was set to Home and not Bonus).
Nobody knows. Just keep reviewing until you got a nomination that are high chance to be accepted. You just need at minimum 1 acceptance from approved Indonesian nominations to be eligible for rewards.
For your 2nd question, where are your current bonus location?
I started with very few, but there seemed to be a sudden marked change where the instances of Indonesian ones became frequent. I’m not sure but it seemed to be alongside a change in my U.K. ones where I started getting a much higher percentage of local ones, with virtually no prioritised ones from a wider countrywide area.
You indeed got more from Russia because of that event using the home location instead of the bonus location, home location review range is bigger than the bonus location one (S2 Level 6 cells Vs Level 7 ones, the higher the number, the smaller they are)
Again, businesses such as restaurants are sometimes nominated here but they're rarely being accepted because the submitters failed to explain what makes the business notable and instead just begging reviewers to accept the nominations because they meet the "What is it" criteria.
I'm noticing a sudden change as well. I got quite a few whilst I was reviewing overnight. I also seem to be getting agreements fairly quickly as well (I had 30 agreements more than when I checked a few hours previously, normally it would take a few days to get those numbers coming in).
@HankWolfman-PGO yes agreements are flooding in - I guess a lot of us reviewing in the U.K. so those are resolving, although I personally haven’t had any resolved🙄
Can't believe Tintino came to this forum only to close that Antarctica thread. @NianticTintino-ING can we have the updates on accepted nominations so far?
From past challenge experiences you need at minimum 1 acceptance from approved Indonesian nominations to be eligible for rewards. So yeah, that doesn't count for bonuses.
But looking for nominations that are high chance to be accepted sounds quite difficult, huh.
The only real way is to review more. Your review queue pulls from mainly your local area, then your hometown, and last from bonus. If you can review enough to vote on everything in local or home then you will see more from bonus. I've completed home and local so I see about 75% Indonesia and 25% other (mostly upgrades).

For anyone who've met 'acc' in supporting informations at least once and thought it refers to accept,
Congratulations, you're one step closer to mastering modern Bahasa Indonesia. Apologize for not informing this earlier.

Hometown in Poland + Bonus in Indonesia = jump from Great do Poor for me. Excellent work, Robert...

Will do at the next change :)

Would appreciate an update on Monday as to where we are at
See, even Google Translate fails to translate modern Bahasa Indonesia.

Hi, it is the first time I participate in one of those challenges, is there a way to how many Indonesian POI I reviewed got accepted ? *
Is there a way to get more indonesian POI to review ? I've got like 1 in 25

Thanks for your answer, I located my bonus location in Denpasar

Where can we see the progress count/ nominations accepted in this overall challenge?
no where, @NianticTintino-ING is expected to update us on this forum at some point since the last time from day 1
Are you "nicer" with indonesian propositions ?
For instance most restaurants are usually declined in the US / Europe, do you do the same here ?
I would do the same. Not accept unless exceptional.
If you have an Ingress account and can look at the Intel Map, you can check back on ones you voted favorably on in a few days and see if they show up.
Again, businesses such as restaurants are sometimes nominated here but they're rarely being accepted because the submitters failed to explain what makes the business notable and instead just begging reviewers to accept the nominations because they meet the "What is it" criteria.
Just review as usual then.
Good idea I didn't think about that
I'm noticing a sudden change as well. I got quite a few whilst I was reviewing overnight. I also seem to be getting agreements fairly quickly as well (I had 30 agreements more than when I checked a few hours previously, normally it would take a few days to get those numbers coming in).

If I give a nomination 0* or a mark it as a duplicate, will it count against the bonuses?

i got so many trash nominations there :(
